Elena was pretty sure that Katherine had never wanted to have a serious conversation before. In fact, their relationship was pretty physical most of the time and she was pretty sure that was all Katherine wanted from it. That had never really bothered Elena before because she had Stefan for the other stuff. But here, her Stefan wasn't around and she was free to be with Katherine completely. It made her realize that she wanted to be with Katherine completely, but not knowing how Katherine felt made that hard. Was she falling for the vampire only to suffer the same fate as Stefan and Damon? She'd been hinting around about feelings, but she couldn't get much out of Katherine. It frustrated her.
But if she wanted to talk, really talk, then did that mean she did feel something? Or did it mean she was going to be let down tonight? No, Katherine had said that it didn't have to do with their relationship. It didn't calm her nerves any.
After telling Katherine that she would come to her room soon, Elena didn't move right away. Finally, slowly, she pushed herself off the bed and grabbed a robe, slipping it on before walking over to Katherine's room barefoot. She knocked gingerly on the closed door before turning the knob and pushing it open slowly. "So I'm here," she said, not moving from the doorway yet.
