She couldn't help but beam when Draco said that Harry defeated Voldemort. She knew he would, there was no way around it. Harry had always been strong and he had so much more going for him than Voldemort. The relief that coursed through her had her sighing, because even if she knew he could do it... it was good to know that he truly had done it. "I knew he would," she vocalized the thought despite herself.
The next bit had Hermione's eyebrows lifting in surprise. "Your family switched sides?" she echoed him, incredulous. She never would have seen that coming. Not ever. "Why?" She just couldn't believe it, not when they were so adamant about blood purity. The only thing that she could think of that would have forced them to go back would be the fact that they either realized they were losing and wanted to save themselves or because they were worried about what Voldemort might do... and wanted to save themselves. She didn't want to judge straight away, though.
Hermione re-situated herself on the sofa, leaning forward with her elbows resting on her knees, "Can you give me specifics?" she pushed further. "What about the Horcruxes? What about Bellatrix Lestrange and the Weasleys?" She knew Harry married Ginny and she married Ron, but... well she hadn't heard anything about anyone else. Hermione cleared her throat, "And...," she trailed off, trying to think of any friends Draco may have had, "Crabbe and Goyle?" she asked tentatively, trying to be friendly enough that he would want to give her the information she wanted.
