Stefan smiled as he listened to her. The language thing wasn't a problem, aside from the fact that most people in Europe spoke at least a little English these days, he was fluent in both French and Italian, could speak German well and had at least a little knowledge in most of the other European languages.
Lifting a hand to brush her hair back from her face, he fixed her brown eyes with his green ones, still smiling. "We can kiss at the top of the Eiffel Tower if you like," he said, chuckling softly. "And I'll show you the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe and we can eat dinner on the Champs-Élysees before I take you for a walk along the banks of the Seine, just as the sun is setting." He grinned. He hadn't been to Paris for a while. It would be good to see it again, especially with Elena on his arm. "And then, when we go to Rome," he continued, his fingers brushing over her cheek as he spoke. "I'll show you the Colosseum and Palatine Hill and the Vatican City and the Trevi Fountain..." He paused, raising his eyebrows. "I hope none of the polizia remember me from last time..." A smirk came over his face as he remembered the trouble he and Lexi had almost gotten into the last time they did a grand trip of Europe. That had been a great time in his life, but he knew being there with Elena would make it all the more magical.
He leaned in and placed a soft kiss on her lips. "And while we're in Italy, I can show you where my family is from. There are still some decendants living there now." He'd visited the small Tuscan town a number of times. The sense of community and tradition there reminded him of the old days in Mystic Falls and the beautiful buildings and scenery made it feel like you'd stepped back in time. "You'll love it, Elena. I'll take you to the vineyards and olive groves, and we can rent a villa surrounded by poplars, with a pool and anything else you could wish for."
He gave a happy sigh, turning slightly so he could face her better. "We're going to be happy, Elena. Forever. I'm going to make sure of it."
