"I think," she started with a smile, looking up at her lover from under her dark lashes, lengthened by her mascara, "that your mom is really great. I can definitely tell that you two are related too. You got her nose and those pretty eyes. And her smile!" Elena lifted up her glass and sipped at her wine, still watching Stefan. It was obvious that she was still grinning but she couldn't help it. Her lover had been so ecstatic to see his mom and she was so charming to Elena herself. Elodie had complimented her on everything from her make-up, to the curls of her hair (and the woman's had been curled too), to her dress--deep blue, strapless, but loose and casual. She'd made Elena feel comfortable right away, which was nice because she had been completely nervous about it. "This cake is delicious, by the way," she murmured, swiping a bit of frosting off the top and licking it off her finger with an innocent expression.
