"A couple of weeks," she murmured, looking back on how hard it had been for her so far. Human blood was a huge temptation, especially with Damon and his normal diet, but Elena was determined to be with Stefan completely, and that meant adopting his kind of food too. It wasn't so bad, she knew the animal stuff didn't taste right through instinct alone, but it nourished her and left her pretty well sated which was the most important thing. "When I came back the first thing I saw was you..." She didn't want to mention that Stefan had also looked worried and relieved at exactly the same time. The memories of that night were too painful right now like a wound that was still healing, so she shook them back and pulled away to take one of the older vampire's hand in her own. "And you've been taking care of me. I live...at the boardinghouse. With you and Damon. It's nice. But I miss the sunlight."
