Stefan laughed, looking down at the little toothbrush. He had actually been joking when he'd asked her if she had one, but he thought it was completely adorable that she really did. "Poor bunnies don't stand a chance," he agreed, giving her shoulders a little squeeze. This was going to take some time to get used to, but he really didn't think it was too bad so far. She was one of the better behaved newborn vampires he'd witnessed in his time, which was a mercy. Still, he'd always known she would be. It was in her nature.
Stefan hadn't been out much since arriving, except to look around and try to figure out where they were. He didn't recognise any inch of the place, and that worried him. He hadn't been to all the cities in the world, but he knew a lot of them and was familiar with others. This one, however, was somewhere completely new. He'd gathered enough of the place's layout to ascertain that there was scrubland and forest to the city's north and west, which is where he led Elena. He knew the new environment must have been hard for her to resist, especially when she knew there were so many humans out there. He had been very proud of her that she had asked him for help with the rooming situation. It wasn't easy, admitting your weaknesses, but she had clearly learned enough that she wasn't going to be silly about it either. He wondered if he had taught her that, in the future. He wished he could have witnessed everything she had, come from the same time as her so as to help better, but he had to just make do with the knowledge and memories he had. "How long have you been like this?" he asked her as they walked, more to make conversation and keep her distracted from the city around them than because he wanted to know the answer.
