Stefan was at the door before she'd even knocked - she hadn't quite mastered the art of moving quietly yet - but he waited until he heard the soft tap before opening the door, out of courtesy. First thing was first. Stepping out into the hallway, he pulled Elena into a tight hug, so relieved to see at least one of her for the first time since arriving. There were so many things different about her - her smell, her temperature, the quiet where once he could hear the beating of her heart - but she was still undeniably Elena. He took a deep breath, burying his face in her hair as he held onto her tightly, wanting to just make sure she was real, before finally loosing his arms and stepping back. He let his green eyes roam over her face, unable to stop the little smile that came to his lips. "I'd say I was pleased to see you, but you might have already gotten that impression," he said, shaking his head a little.
Glancing back at the apartment, Stefan frowned slightly. "I don't know whether you'll be able to get in or not, but you can try," he said, glancing back at her. He hadn't had any problems getting in or out earlier, but then he'd woken up in the bedroom. He thought maybe that was as good as an invite. He gave a shrug, an indication that he wasn't sure, before turning back to face her, leaning against the door frame. "If you can't, we'll just put your things inside, head out and wait for someone to get back to invite you in."
