WHO: Westly Nott and Adam Pucey
WHAT: Doing homework... or Adam helps.
WHERE: Library
WHEN: Friday
RATING: TBA
STATUS: In Progress/Closed

Westly didn't understand why he was doing homework on a Friday night, but he just needed to be somewhere besides the common room. All anyone could talk about was the Valentine's Day Ball it seemed. It was ridiculous how social this school was. He supposed he could have gone to find his sister and bum a cigarette off of her. He was sure Calli wasn't thrilled about the Ball.

But instead he'd gone to the library, where it was quiet since there were hardly any students there on a Friday. Though it was getting closer to OWLs and NEWTs so there were some... but not a lot of 6th years or younger years anyway.

Westly still didn't want to be there though. Doing homework was just the lesser of the evils in front of him. He let out a sigh, frustrated with the essay he was writing, so he got up from his table and wandered back over to the aisles again. Looking for a book... a book he didn't really need but it was better to go look for that than stare at a couple feet of parchment.

Adam strode inside the library after his seemingly too long hour of class, books to return in one hand and his bag swung over his torso. His steps told of no particular purpose. After his returned his texts, he could perhaps just browse the shelves for a good read. True, NEWTS were drawing nearer, though he wasn't at all worried about such things. Not at the moment, at least.

There was a talk of a Ball recently as well. He wasn't certain if he would be in attendance yet, but only thankful it was optional- much unlike the holiday Balls he was always forced to attend over breaks. Unwillingly, his thoughts returned to the recent object of his fascination, the encounter they had only days ago still fresh in his mind. The other bviously detested him, and as stubborn he seemed he was, it didn't appear as if the other would be keen on trusting him anytime soon. Such a fact fueled the feelings of want in him, instead of turn him off. The fact remained that what he couldn't have seemed the most desirable. The opportunity posed as a challenge for the young Pucey and he would dub himself a coward if he turned it down.

His light feet carried him through the many deserted eyes. fingers brushing against the thick spines as he progressed, only looking but nothing has seemed to arrest his attention as of yet. Then suddenly, he saw him standing in the aisle parallel with his through the gaps between the shelf. All thoughts of reading instantly vanished from his mind.

He watched him for a second, noting quickly the frustrated lines that creased the other's forehead. He had the sudden urge to run his fingers over the skin to smoothen it over and he queitly laughed at himself. After a moment, he finally headed his way, his steps careful so as not to startled him- always the perfect predator. Careful eyes noted his "Doing homework on a Friday Night." he said, his silkly voice echoing in the quiet confined space. "That's not very Slytherin of you, Westly." Again, his name rolled flawlessly from his lips. He liked that all to much. "I thought Friday nights for Slytherins were resrved for ritual animal slaughterings or any such activities of the like." He smiled warmly at him, his small attempt to let the other know that he meant no harm.

At first Westly sighed and tried to ignore the intrusion from the older Ravenclaw. But then he started joking with him so he looked over his shoulder briefly at Adam. "There weren't any stray cats around," he said going back to skimming the books for the transfiguration volume he 'needed'.

He was still saying his name. He'd probably keep doing it if Westly didn't tell him to stop. But that may even make it worse, and make Adam say it more and more. "So what are you doing here? Don't you have a logical argument to win somewhere, if we're going by house stereotypes."

Adam was a bit shocked at the other's apprently teasing response. Did he just play along with his joke? The fact left him more pleased than he should. He was making some sort of progress- and though he couldn't define it he was determined to continue on. "Pleanty of squirrels in the forrest though. Don't those work?"

A smile was dancing at his lips. "Is it surprising at all to see a Ravenclaw in the Librray?" he questioned, leaning on his side against the shelf so he would be facing the other's prifile. "Stereotypes make it easier to classify people. Plus they present plenty of material for jokes. But in truth, I'm just here to look around. See if there's anything new." His eyes skimmed lazily the cover of the book he was reading. "What are you working on?" Light chatter seemed something the other could tolerate, so he would try to prolong it as much as he could. He was taking what he could get...

"Cats irritate me, squirrels don't," Westly used as his simple explanation. He wasn't exactly saying it in a teasing tone, more like a glibb to give Adam a quick response so he could go.

"As surprising to see a Slytherin in the Dungeons. I merely meant, why are you here now, I'm sure you have better things to do on a Friday night than wander the library." He took a book down from the shelf leafing through it to see if it was any use to him, still not looking at Adam. "Some stereotypes ares wrong, and not funny in the slightest. And the chances of anything new in this library, is slim. Not when it prides on being old." Westly snapped the book closed and replaced it on the shelf. "Transfiguration, clearly."

Adam caught the dismissive tone instantly, though still unfazed, he remained where he was. "What do you have against cats?"

A shrug was given at the other's words. "I don't. At the moment however, I'm satisfied where I am." his eyes lingered to the other's careful fingers as they retreived and flipped through the books. "I never mentioned I agree stereotyping. I merely mentioned its useful sometimes. I don't used it callously, if that's what you thought." A smile grazed his lips. "And yes, I did figure that. Still, there is no harm in taking a look is there." At the mention of Transifgurations, his smile grew. "You seem to be... having a bit of trouble. Need any help?"

"We just don't get along, but we've managed to come to an agreement over the years of equal avoidance." Cats just had a strange look in their eyes that Westly couldn't stand... but they avoided eachother so it worked out.

"Good for you," Westly said simply at Adam's remark of being satisfied where he was. "I didn't think anything." He could care less what other houses stereotyped him as a Slytherin. "It all depends on where you're looking. And I'm not having trouble... I'd just rather not be doing it." Westly said replacing the book back on the shelf again.

Adam bit his lips in his attempt to push down the laugh threatening to escape him. He breathed deep once before allowing himself to speak. "At least ther'e is mutual repsect. I suppose that's the only thing that matters." he nodded, solemnly.

He noted the succesion of dismissive, clipped responses. If the other was truly repulsed by him he would have left the second he arrived. Hard to get, this one, he thought. Though more than before, he was now determined to stay. "Where should I look then?" he asked, inching a little closer to him. "Because of your lack of interest in it, you're now having a difficult time finding what you need. What do you need?"

"No respect, we just avoid eachother," Westly said making that point clear. He had NO respect for cats. Spoiled creatures that thought they were so special and worthy... and those irritating eyes.

"I don't know, what are you looking for," Westly said annoyed by the question before he noticed Adam move closer. But Westly didn't move any, he just crossed his arms, and turned to lean against the bookcase. "I need a lot of things. But for my homework, I need someone else to do it."

"Such hate for cats." Adam observed out loud, cocking an eyebrow at the bizarre situation. "Why so?

"I don't know what I want at the moment, which I suppose makes this easy and hard depending on where one stood." he said with a casual, elegant shrug of his shoulders. "I'm sure I'll know what I'm looking for when I saw it." Again, the impatience, the annoyance was clear though hr made no move to quench such, just always curious to see how he would be responded to. "Why would you? You're smart." A pause, as he deliberated. "I can help you. But not make it for you. For that sort of service, you'd have to pay me..." he said teasingly, before crossing his arms in front of him in a challenge. "What'll it be, Westly?"

"They don't like me. I've gotten scratched, hissed and glared at cats more times than I can count," Westly explained. It wasn't that interesting, that's just how it was.

"So you're just going to wander around the library until you see something... or are you just going to stand there?" Westly asked turning and looking down the shelf further down. "I am smart but I also would rather not waste the time." He looked back at Adam at the offer or tease. "Depends on how much want. Or what you want for payment."

Glare? "I'll make sure not to let my cat stray anywhere near you then." he promised, even though his cat was probably the sweetest thing anyone can ever meet.

"The former. I have no engagements for the night." Adam said brightly, though he didn't move a muscle. "I'm dedicating my time to books. And if you need the help, to you." Again, the signs of mistrust seeped out into the air between them. It amused him, though he tried to keep this from his expression. "No. No payment. Just the pleasure of your company, darling." though his tone might be teasing, Adam knew his statement was sincere. He wanted nothing in return for doing his homework. He had nothing better to do anyway, and he was only responding to his desires to stay in the other's presence. It was daunting, even to him. "I'll help. That's all I can offer. So what will it be?"

Oh Merlin, he was a cat person. And even though Adam said he was going to wander but he didn't leave. He arched an eyebrow turning back to Adam and walking over and poking him in the chest.

"You said I could make you do it all, if I paid you," he said remembering Adam's words. "I don't need help. I can do the work on my own, I just don't want too. If you want my company while you do it, that's an easy payment, so really it's your decision Adam."

Adam's eyes shrply looked down where Wes' fingers poked his chest, the gentle throbbing on the sor post one he barely notice in comparison the slight shiver the contact afforded him. His jaw clenched for the slightest, but other than that, his exterior barely regiestered his momentary surprise.

"I could. But I doubt I'll let you pay me. I don't need the money." he said honestly, smiling slightly. Quickly, his hand closed around the other's wrist, a seemingly loose grip, and held him, keeping the contact. "But I'll do it. I expect you to stay and keep me company, entertain me. It's the meekest form of payment. Can you manage it?"

Westly actually saw those eyes watching him, and looking down at his fingers. It actually made him smirk. It was about time that Adam made some real reactions to him.

But he did jump a bit when Adam grabbed his wrist, and sending a slight shiver through him at the skin contact. "I can manage to stay, if you do my essay."

Adam was quick to notice that the other was observant enough to see the subtle changes in his expression. This worried him- having been used to those who barely care he reacted as long as he could distract them with his words- but only a little.

"I didn't want you to just stay. Talk to me, entartain me. Tell me more about you..." His voice adapted one that he often used to persuade, a little softer, silkier as he inched a little closer to the other, keeping his hand comfortably where it was wrappped sround the other's wrist. "If you can do that, then you can start telling me what I need to be writing..."

Westly didn't really need much persuading, since he really didn't want to do his easy. He just needed to come to terms with the fact that he had to spend time with Adam to do it...

"It's about mechanics of Human transfiguration. Done with NEWT level research," Westly explained. "So what do you want to know about me?"

Easy. Adam thought, a smile grazing his lips. Having been someone who has obsessed over transfiguration all his life- and has broken ministry rules just because of his fascination with the subject- Adam knew he wouldn't have trouble with the this small task. "Let's get right to it, then." Taking advantage of his hold on the other's wrist, he pulled his gently towards him and placed the boy in front of him, pushing the other against the shelf before he started looking over the volumes by the other's head. One of his hands was braced on a shelf top by Wes' his while he allowed the other to graze the spine of the books lined behind the other.

He gave a small laugh when the other "How lazy for you to make me ask everything from you. I thought we agreed you're going to entertain me?" A sigh. "Well, first. What's you're whole name? I've been curious..."

Westly didn't know what Adam was doing until he had him up against the shelf. He couldn't look aware but ahead of him at Adam. He blushed trying to avoid looking at Adam's face, but looking down he saw how close Adam was to him. His chest was so close. "What are you going?" he asked. He was kind of too shocked to be angry.

He did glare a bit though. "It's not lazy. I just not a mind reader. You have to let me know what you want to know," he said. Adam was still holding his wrist... and he really couldn't get out of the way. "Westly Fergus. My middle name is from my mother's father." Theo already got the junior name, so that's all they had left for Westly, being the second son.

"Helping you with homework. Was that not the agreement?" Adam replied almost immediately, the drawing of his light brows together, creating the illusion of confusion. But that was all it was: an illusion. In fact, Adam never did much of anything that wasn't deliberate. This specific instance was not an exception. He moved closer, as he looked at the books propped on the higher shelf, the mask of concentration in his features. "What do you think I'm doing?" he asked, his eyes still scanning the book spines slowly, even though he enjoyed their close proximity all too much.

He could feel the heat of Wes' glare against the skin of his cheek, burning him. "I want to know everything." was his honest reply. "I'm always curious, and I hate not knowing things. It's a bit difficult to choose which ones I want to know first, and which ones you're going to allow yourself to answer. I had assume the liberty I'm giving you would be one you'd appreciate..." His thumb started to draw light circles on the other's skin, his attempt to calm him down in the slightest as he continued to purposefully show the other his attentions were averted from him even though Wes was pretty much where he has his focuse centered on now. He allowed a smile on his features when he spoke his name, feeling an immediate partiality to the name. "It's a beautiful name- hold this please." he handed Wes a book without scanning it, though he continued to look for another book, unmoving from where he was. "Your birthday?"

"I'm thinking you have no idea of personal space... or you're thinking I'm going to run away," Westly said not ignoring the closeness like Adam seemed to be doing. Smug git...

"I answer questions better than going on off on a rant with no direction in mind," Westly said. He didn't want to go on about anything useless after all... "Thank you." It was nice for a left over, he suppose. "It was on the third."

"I'm not sure." Adam said distractedly, reaching for another volume but instead of give it to Wes, he tucked it under one arm. "It could also be that I enjoy being this close to you. Is that bad?" Without waiting for an answer, he snaked his hand down to close around Westly's and started gently tugging him down the aisle. He led the two of them to an open space in one of the more secluded sections. A table was braced against the far wall, with only two chairs, parallel to each other. One could almost believe he had set this all up.

"That's true. Though, again, given you're continuing hostility, I'm not certain which questions are... forbidden. I seriously don't want to upset you more than I already have." He led the other to one chair, and took the other by his side, pushing his closer to his. "You're welcome. Though I don't think it's a leftover. It's too nice to be one." A pause. "Hobbies?" After placing the book his has on the table, he laid their joint hands on the table, before he held his free one to him. "Book, please?" he asked, smiling. "And quill and parchment."

"Why..." was what Westly found himself asking. He was ignoring the fact that he liked having Adam close too. He'd be a git to say that Adam wasn't attractive. But he was just annoying... and there were plenty of reasons to resist those annoying attempts of getting closer.

He had no choice but to follow him as Adam pulled him along, He saw down in the chair... noting that Adam did pull it closer to his. And he wouldn't let go of his hand. It really did feel like Adam thought he was going to run away. "It is a leftover. My brother got the important names. He's the first born. I just came along extra." He pulled out his wand to summon his things from his other table and he handed the quill parchment and book to Adam. "As for hobbies... there is Quidditch for one. I'm in the Astronomy, Charms and Dueling club... so that counts too I guess. I like to paint, and horse back ride..."

Adam spared the other a glimpse of a smile at this question. He noted the other's breathlessness, and he reveled on the thought that he was the cause of it. "I don't think I need a reason." he explained, before something occured to him. "What did you do during your birthday?"

He felt most comfortable with their positions, where he held the other's hand on the table and kept him close. In truth, part of the contact was because he was cared the other would run away. But at the same time, he just liked the excuse to touch him- and he liked touching his hand indeed. "The name's not what's important, it's you. I'm a first born and look what I got. Trust me, you're worth as much as he is. To others, perhaps you're worth more..." he said, watching the other summon his things before handing them to him. He took them and assembled them on the desk, immediately getting to work. He wrote with his right, keeping his left occupied with playing with Wes' hand. He gently interwined their fingers, before loosening them and doing them again, brushing their fingers against each other. It was an almost intimate gesture, one he balances off by acting as if he was hardly conscious of the action.

He noted their interest in Quidditch with a smile, glad for something they could connect in one degree on. "Paint? What do you like painting?" he asked, his hands and eyes busy looking from the parchment before him to the open books. "Can you tell me more?" he asked, finding it easier to work with the his voice filling his head. "Tell me random things. All your favorites... food color, place..."

"I'd like to know the reason though." Westly wasn't being hostile now. He just wanted... to know. Why was Adam seeking his attention, his closeness. "Nothing much. My parents gave me 'coming of age' gifts. I kind of just kept it to myself." That's what Westly usually did when he was home, except if his mother wanted to spend time with him.

Westly just looked at that. He didn't believe it. Theo was the only son in his father's eyes. Theo was his sister's favorite sibling. It was usually only his mother he could isolate for attention. But no. The Nott family would have been pretty much the same thing as it was now if Westly hadn't been born. "If you say so." He did like the way Adam was playing with his hand though. He didn't pull his hand away at least.

"I paint a lot of things. Landscape... animals. I just don't paint people," Westly explained. He hated doing portraits. Westly liked to be by himself when he painted. "I like chocolate. But my favorite food is probably ice cream. Vanilla, but with chocolate. My favorite colour is green. But more of a blueish green, not the emerald for Slytherin. And my favorite place is my Grandparent's place... my mother's parents. That and Paris."

For the first time, Adam couldn't detect the hostility that had always been present in his words. It startled him, causing his fingers' scribbling to cease for a secon, before they resumes. He liked it- in fact, he liked it too much that he couldn't resist the other. "Are you still so oblivious to how I see you?" he asked, his voice uncharacteristically gentle, almost as if he was pleading for the other to believe him, even though he didn't spare him a glance. He doubt he could look at him and not betray himself to the other. When the other spoke of how he had spent his birthday, his brows drew together. He clicked his tongue once. "That's not way to spend one's birthday..."

The other's tone wasn't one Adam liked. "Someone should let you know how much you're worth. I don't like the fact that you don't believe what I'm saying..." The other might not have said he didn't, but it wa too obvious for Adam to ignore.

Adam lightly turned their hands over, so Westly could lay his against the wodden surface. Gently, he started trailing his fingers over the other's skin, his eyes still averting from the books to theparchments, but never to Westly. "Why don't you like painting people?" He knew artists merely have preferences, though he wondered if there was a reason behind his aversion to them. They were just little things, but he found himself almost desperate to know them.

It was arelief to him that the other merely answered his questions. He took the information he know knew, and tucked them safely away for future reference, hoping that he could use them someday. "Why do you like being in your grandparents' place?" he asked, "And Paris. Tell me what fascinates you about it..." His fingers, if the other would notice, has slowed from the rapid flow of words that escaped him earlier. However, again, this was deliberate. He found that he liked where he was too much to want to escape it yet. He only hoped the other didn't mind too much...

Westly look away for a moment shaking his head. He was aware that Adam looked at him. He's been suspicious of Adam's intentions all along. But he'd still been waiting for him to just come right out and tell him. But he ignored it for now. "It the way I spend my birthday. It's just the way it is in my house. We're not close."

Westly would have liked someone to show him that. But if someone like Adam was going to be so subtle and totally not straight forward about it... "Painting is something I do on my own. I don't paint people because I don't want a model with me."

Westly smiled thinking about his grandparent's place. Like his mother, Westly got along particularly well with his grandmother too. "The house is by a beautiful lake. And I like visiting my Grandmother." It was also where Westly got his first kiss... from one of the boys in the village nearby. "I like Paris because I go there a lot with my mother. I go shopping with her. She seems to enjoy my company and my opinion on things." He did notice that Adam's fingers had slowed, and Westly tightened his hand within Adam's a bit.

"Neither are my family members. But I still believe such shouldn't be the way one should spend such a significant date." Adam had never been close to his family, but he made it a point to spend it with someone he loved to be happy. "Happiness is but a small gift one should give one's self for one's day. If you can't give it to yourself, however... would you like someone else to give it to you, then?"

"Why don't you like people around when you paint?" It was a curious aversion, one that, again, sparked his interest. Anther silence as he allowed the other his indulgence. "You like your mother." he noticed out loud. He could hear the love and admiration in the other's tone. "Am I safe to assume that you're more partial to her than your father?" He noticed how the other's hand tightened agianst his, and he appreciated the gesture, keeping his tight against him as he wrote. "Tell me your fondest childhood memory..."

"I was at home. None of my friends were around so there really wasn't much I could do. I did something with Phoenix later," Westly said shrugging. It wasn't like he was little anymore and got the huge planned birthday party. And yes maybe 17 was a big deal, but he was an adult now after all. And only the second son... "I don't know... I suppose so."

Westly shrugged. "I don't know. I just like to be by myself then. I talk to myself, get lost in my own imagination. I'd just rather no one there to watch me." Again Wes merely shrugged at Adam's suggestions. "I love me mother. But I don't like her all the time. She's a very selfish woman. But if I ever wanted any attention... she was the only one I could really go to," Westly admitted. "I don't get along with my father very well. We don't exactly understand eachother. Same goes for my older brother. And everyone just loves him." he said with a sigh. It was disgusting really how everyone in the house fawned over Theo. How perfect Theo was, what wonderful things he did, and how amazing he was, how understanding... it made Westly sick. "I'm not sure... it may have been the first time we went to visit the Malfoy's as a family. That's when I met Phoenix, and he became my best friend."

Adam nodded once, slowly, as he acknowledged Adam's explanation. The other's uncaring, rather dismissive tone worried him a little, though of course, he did not dare voice out his thoughts. "What did you both do?" he asked, not sure if the other would answer such a question, so he told himself not to expect anything. His hand closed tighter around the other's soft hands, and he used his thumb to slowly draw doodles over the other's hand. The other's answer gave him a small idea, but he guessed he'd rather keep it to himself for now...

"Does it bother you when people watch you? I mean, not just while you paint?" Adam was curious, for this answer might just define his limits for him. He didn't exactly like them but he'd rather he knew.

His eyebrows drew together in the slightest when the other spoke of his father, then his brother, Wes' tone one that summoned his concern. He has met Theodore, and the older Nott. They weren't people who had left a negative impression, though he knew what they had allowed him to see could merely be fronts. He knew that all too well. "Don't you love him?" his voice was soft, one that told of his uncertainty if such a question was allowed. It was a striking change in the other's tone when he spoke of his best friend, and such brought the smallest smile to his features. "His older brother is one my oldest, closest friends." he voiced out. "Phoenix is a good kid. A touc quiet, though." He lifted their joint fingers and propped his elbow on the table so he could lay his cheek against the back of the other's hand. "Does... Phoenix know...?"

At this time, Adam arrived near the foot of his parchment. He knew he was at his last paragraph, short and precise left for th conclusions. His time was ticking, and he found that such a thought saddened him. "Have you ever been" ...in love? "in a relationship?"

Westly shrugged. "Nothing really. Just hung out. We both needed to get out of our respective houses, so we used my birthday as an excuse." Little shivers ran up Wes' arm feeling Adam thumb doodling on his hand.

"Not all the time... I like getting attention. But everyone has their moments when they want to be along," Westly said. There were times that Wes flaunted himself so much that it was impossible not to watch him.

"Of course I love him. I have too. But that doesn't mean I have to like him," Westly said rolling his eyes. "I hadn't realized you and Scorpius were that close," Westly said. Maybe he just never really noticed how much time Adam spent around the Malfoys. Westly also didn't like the sound of Adam referring to Phoenix as a kid... seeing as Westly and Phoenix were the same age. "Of course he knows. He's my best friend after all."

Westly looked over at the essay and well noted that it was almost done. "Not really. Nothing that serious," he said. And by serious, Westly meant emotionally.

Westly's answer was indirect, though Adam fet contented. "Understandable. It is the a good excuse, though I suppose its more a luxury given to one who is celebrating a birthday. That has always been the case..." His could feel, more than see however, the effects his touch had to the other, so he continued, careful fingers lightly drawing lines across the other's pale skin. The contact afforded him the most amazing subtle sensations, and seeing as the other hasn't pulled away, he was hoping such meant Wes didn't mind as well.

I like getting attention. The information quickly registered to him, and immediately intrigued him. "I find it an impossibility to not notice you. You... stand out." Suddenly, the urge to apply as his personal, full-time attention giver entered his mind, but he knew he had to purge such emotions quickly. "I suppose that is true. We don't have to like our relatives, but we have our blood that binds us to them. In a way our love for them is one we cant escape despite our protests. And yes, we are." he nodded, when the one spoke of Scorpius. "One might say we have the strangest relationship. He is a complex character, and in some strange way I understand him more than most." He took their hands from his cheek, and he rested them against one side of his neck, his eyes closing for a second as the colder fingers brushed his warm skin. "I sometimes wich I could tell Scorpius. I fee as if I'm betraying him in one respect. I don't like it. But I'm certain I'm doing the right thing for him..."

"Ah." Adam could feel his attraction for the other swell to a point where it almost filled him up, overwhelmed him. Though from how he felt only minutes before, his feelings now were almost binding for him, inescapable. His heart started to thud against his ribcage, his breathing hitched, though he only hoped the other didn't notice. He tried his best to keep them at bay, and was thankfully, for the most part successful. A last scribble and a dot and the essay was finished. With an almost sad sigh, Adam placed his quill at the table and started rereading his work. It was an easy enough task, as he expected, having been through many transfiguration texts since he was young to perfect his Animagus form. In time, he was able to, so knowing the mechanics of Transfigurations has become almost second nature to him. He had descibed in great detail the processes, cause and effects, and scopes and limitations. Despite the very short period, he managed to fill the four feet parchment with his small cursive. "You can charm the writing to transform into yours." he suggested, throwing a quick spell to dry the ink before rolling the parchment neatly and handed the other his assignment. "Done and done." he had wanted to smile, but knowing that the other would soon leave, he couldn't get himself to.

"I'm getting that impression," Westly said shortly about Adam noticing him. It wasn't hostile, more of a teasing tone. He wasn't really listening when Adam moved their hands to his cheek, and to Adam's neck. He didn't know if he liked this... indirect way of touching the older boy. Wes knew he'd rather just stroke his hands over that smooth neck on his own...

"Scorpius doesn't really come off as the kind of person to be that understanding," Westly said honestly. He's heard on more than one occasion of Scorpius being disapproving of things Phoenix did.

Westly watched Adam carefully as he went silent. What was he thinking? Or was Adam just reading the paper he'd written for him... and why did he even care? "I was planning on doing that," Westly said nodding about the hand writing. He took the assignment from him and smiled. He kind of felt guilty now, making Adam write it. Not because he should have done the work himself... but he was suddenly not happy with himself for taking advantage of Adam. "Thank you."

"I know you are." Adam said. A small smile traced the shape of his lip, though one couldn't quite easily tell if it was one of amusement or something else. "I'm not making the slightest effort of hiding it, am I?" he liked the other's teasing tone; it was an improvement from the others Wes had used when speaking to him. He turned his head in the slightest, so his lips brushed softy against the other. It wasn't a kiss, but merely the soft caress of the his lips against the younger boy's skin. His gaze remained away from the other, and the contact was brief, that if Wes had not been paying close attention he would have missed it.

"He doesn't, does he?" He knew that much. He, of course, wasn't unaware of the workings of Scorpius' mind. "That's why I'd rather keep some things frm him to protect him. To protect our relationship..."

"Good." Adam said, and smiled. "The professor knows my writing." A nod was given, before expectant eyes moved from the table before them to Westly. It was a gaze that asked what the other was planning to do next. It was obvious what Adam wanted- for him to stay and talk to him more- but that choice was not up to him. "No, thank you." he said. "For fulfilling your part of the bargain." His hands held tighter onto his for a moment longer before they loosened- he didn't release him but it gave the message that if the other wanted to go, he could. Adam knew he couldn't be the one who should pull away...

"No you're not," Westly said smirking. But he definitely did notice the soft kiss on his skin. But... he ignored it. Pretended not to notice.

"I guess that's for the best," Westly said. He knew that he could have gotten away with not telling Phoenix, but he preferred someone knowing. Adam was the only other person who did know.

Adam did loosen his grip on his hand, but he wondered if he really should stay or not. He wasn't sure what he wanted now... and that bothered him. Also Westly's purpose on coming to the library was to avoid all the Valentine talk. Now he had nothing to do... "I'd better be going then." But he didn't stand up yet or pull his hand away.

Adam nodded again, noting the smile- no, smirk on Westly's lips. He was mesmerized for a second, having never seen such a sight before. The other's features lit up significantly. He counted the seconds before it was gone, then looked away.

"It is." he said, and believed his words. "I know he would appreciate what I'm doing, if he knew."

Adam nodded again when the other spoke, though he did notice that the other had barely moved. He loosened his hold on his hands even more, thinking that that maybe what the other wanted. He laid the back of his palm on the table, and opened his fingers, makign it easier for the other to pull away if he wanted to. He gritted his teeth and waited.

Westly took the loosening of his hand as a sign that Adam was letting him go. That he didn't... care either way if he stayed or not. "Thanks again," he said said removing his hand and reached for his other notes that he brought with them and packed them into his satchel. "I'll see you around," he said nodding to Adam and heading off down the aisle trying to figure out what he was supposed to do for the rest of the night.

And less than a minute, Westly had gone and left him to wallow in the deafening silence. Adam was usually a fan of the quiet, but after what just happened, he felt... cold, with the absense of the hand in his, as it stayed unmoving on the table surface and the empty chair that he seemed more aware of now than anything else...
