WHO: Alice and Frank Longbottom
WHAT: An after curfew raid of the kitchens.
WHERE: The Kitchens
WHEN: January 22, lateeeee
WHY: because they can, Alice can't sleep, and just to be twins!
RATING: TBD My guess is PG-ish?
STATUS: Incomplete/Closed

Quite honestly, there was nothing wrong. Nothing was weighing on the small blond's mind, and nothing had upset her recently. In fact, Alice was rather pleased with the way things were going. She had her family, her friends, a good Quidditch game, and plenty of time to study before N.E.W.T's came around. There was no logical reason why she couldn't sleep, except perhaps that she was hyper. She slipped out of bed, giving up on trying to doze off. Maybe she could just talk with Frank. He might be having the same problem she was with sleeping.

She was careful not to wake her dormmates as she went down into the commons, finding it desolate. It took her only a few moments to write out a short note to Frank, 'I can't sleep. Come to the kitchens with me? -Ali' She attached it to the leg of her Father's owl, and told her to take it to Frank. Hopefully he would be meeting her in the corridor outside her commons in a few minutes.

After staring into the dimming embers of the fire for a long few minutes, she headed to the exit. It would have logically been just enough time for him to get the note and almost get to the tower. This was not the first time that it had happened, and she didn't think it would be the last. They had it down nearly to an art, the timing of their meeting.

Frank wasn't sure why he wasn't really sleepy that evening. He had been working on his homework, which usually kept him up for awhile. His brain being stimulated that badly (and it usually was) kept him up. When he recieved the owl from his sister, though, he knew that that was what he was doing for the night. He loved his nights with Alice, sneaking off to the kitchens. Spending time with his twin was one of his favorite past times, and of course he would never turn it down. And added food, after hours? That was just a giant bonus.

He threw on a pair of old flip flops (or 'man flops' as he was teased by Fred sometimes) over his socks, and a sweatshirt over his teeshirt as he headed down, careful to remember his wand (just in case) and be quiet. He was successful in his venture out of the Gryffindor common room and portrate hole into the corridor, and he made sure that the Head Girl wasn't out to get younger students sneaking out.

Heading across the castle, he made it safefly by Ravenclaw without running into any professor or the creepy caretaker. Or, of course, not their father. Turning the corner, he found Alice standing there waiting for him, as he knew she would be. A grin turned up on his face. "Ally!" he called, his voice just a bit over a whisper.

Alice was simply dressed in her pajamas, a pair of pink, plaid flannel bottoms, and a sweatshirt she'd gotten some chirstmas's back. Her socks and slippers were just the icing on the cake. Few people saw her in such a state, though she didn't really look bad. It was just different, more casual than she was used to being in public. Thankfully, they never really got caught.

She waited patiently, keeping her eyes and ears open, ready to find some place to hide should a prefect or Professor come around the corner. Thankfully, no one showed up until she heard the familiar footsteps of her brother. She could pick out his footsteps even among a crowd. She heard her name and a smile pulled her lips upward as she hurried quietly over to him, "Frank," she happily whispered, throwing her arms around his middle.

While she had been able to see him sometimes, it didn't feel like nearly enough. Plus, they were generally around other people, so just having time with Frank was something she looked forward to. She never felt better than when she was able to just hang out with her brother and be completely herself.

Frank's grin was brought even wider when he saw his twin sister coming towards him. He wrapped his large arms around her tiny frame, lifting her only slightly off the ground in greeting.

He liked being thise close with his sister. For the most part, people in Hogwarts were close to their siblings, but he felt that he had an even better relationship with his sister. They both protected each other, they both helped each other out, and they made each other happy when they were down. It was nice to hang out with her alone, not around their classmates and their friends. That was why they had their evenings together.

"Ready to raid the kitchens?" he said with a grin, draping his arm around her shoulders.

She laughed lightly when he lifted her off the floor with ease. While she was extremely petite, he was just a big teddy bear. He had always been able to pick her up, since they were little.

For as long as Alice could remember, Frank had been her best friend. They had walked side by side through their first eleven years. By that point, she knew him inside and out. She swore she could almost predict his next move sometimes. Their relationship was a two way street. There was nothing that they wouldn't do for one another. Sometimes she hated having to 'share' Frank with everyone else, but that was just when she didn't get to see him as often as she would like. She realized they both lead different lives and in ways, it made their time together that much better.

She grinned back, "Oh, always. I'm thinking sweets," Alice had such a sweet tooth. She wrapped her arm casually behind his back, leaning into his side, in response to the arm around her shoulders. She was so comfortable with him. Life with Frank was easy. She sometimes felt like just seeing him when she was upset made things so much better.

The way the twins worked was like any other set of close twins. Although obviously they weren't identical, they were more alike than most. And the parts that were different countered each other. There was always an unspoken understanding between the two. Frank always made sure that Alice agreed with everything he did, and he supported her in all that she did as well.

And God forbid it when she got a boyfriend. Frank was happy with her being single at the moment (as stereotypical as that was for him to say) because he didn't want to have to worry about her all the time. Because it was just natural for him, to worry about her.

"Sounds fantastical," he said with a grin, heading towards the staircase leading to the kitchens. "Sweets are always the answer to a sleepless night," he said with a grin, although they both knew that they were going to be up all night.

Even though they were fraternal, things seemed to be consistently mirrored at least in personalities and a few physical traits. Alice had always enjoyed the bond she shared with him. She felt more in tune to him than anyone else. It was almost as if she had a built in radar that told her when something was off with her beloved brother.

Alice knew that one day she would have a relationship and it would probably drive Frank insane. She wouldn't doubt if he worried even after she was married one day. She thought she would be the same way, and in some ways she did worry, but Darcy had always been her friend, so it was slightly easier to accept. She didn't think Darcy would ever hurt Frank.

At the word 'fantastical', Alice laughed, the sound bouncing off the walls, though it didn't seem to alert anyone to their presence. It was such a perfect word, "Yes, they are. Though, they don't really help the sleeping delima any. We're going to need all of the sugar we can get to not sleep in classes tomorrow though," she didn't sound opposed to the idea at all, but rather pleased. Having that long with just Frank was worth staying up the entire night for.
