Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:jenna towler, november 2022

Who: Chase and Jenna
What: the aftermath of the ball
Where: Hufflepuff Common Room
When: November 1, morning
Rating: TBD - but probably not too high
Status: Closed and in progress.

Jenna sat on a couch with her legs curled up underneath her. She was nibbling on a jelly donut. Her left hand held a text book that she was skimming casually. She was well-rested. She'd spent the night feigning a headache in the infirmy. It'd turned out to the perfect place to hide. No one came looking for her, and Madame Hiddlebottom wouldn't have let her out if they had.
She'd spent most of the night sleeping or reading a copy of Witch Weekly by wandlight.

There was the noise of footsteps as someone entered the room, and Jenna lifted her head to see who it was.

Chase had gone to the ball without Jenna, modestly dressed, hoping that she'd show up. But she hadn't, and that had devastated the boy. Not only was she his best friend, but she held considerable interest for him and he was so upset that she'd refused to go. Moving from his dorm to the Common Room, he'd expected to steal a handful of candy from the vase where he hid his stash, but he stopped dead as he spotted Jenna. With a quiver, he chose to turn around and start off the other way.

He was mad. Not just mad, but seriously upset that she wouldn't go with him! And then he couldn't FIND her! He'd been worried all night. After she hadn't shown up, he'd left the Ball altogther and stayed in the Common Room, hoping that she'd sneak in. But she hadn't. She hadn't and he'd gone to bed concerned and slightly broken hearted. So no, he didn't want to talk to her. He really, really didn't.

"Chase, Chase, wait," Jenna set her book down and hopped to her feet. She practically skipped over to Chase and grabbed his arm lightly. "What's wrong? You can't seriously be upset about last night."

He shrugged his arm out of her grasp and kept walking, his expression stony and cold. "Just leave me alone, Jenna," he replied quietly, obviously more than just a little upset. Chase never really left the room without a smile on a usual basis. So for the smile to be gone, there was something seriously wrong.

"No!" Jenna said, as she tightened the grip on Chase's arm. "What's your problem?"

"You didn't go!" he snapped, that amusing pout forming on his lips. "You were supposed to go and you didn't."
