one • what is this?
this journal is a new code journal maintained by [info]squirtle & [info]tentacool.

two • why are we doing this?
as individuals who enjoy coding and find we've exhausted the requests of our own friend circles, we want to expand our abilities, our services and help those who don't want/care/know with codes for their roleplay experience.

three • what kind of codes?
we'd just about take a crack at any request you have, but for specifics:

» layouts
» bios
» manips
» gifs
» in-entry templates & codes
» neocities codes → schedules, calendars, narratives, floorplans, social media templates, wedding websites, etc
» literally, if you can think it, we can take a shot at it!

four • how will you divide that up?
in order to allow artistic freedom and in the spirit of providing as many options as possible, each coder will have the option to fulfill any request and post it in the main comm for people to see and use. there may be certain requests every coder cannot fulfill for various reasons, but each request submitted will get fulfilled by at least one.

five • is there anything else we should know?
‣ do not be afraid to ask us to alter or change any detail of a code we provide or post -- we love to tweak!
‣ please don't remove any credits in the layouts -- ours or those that we have left as a proper means of respect
‣ if you see something that you feel is incorrectly credited, please let us know (respectfully) in our dropbox post so we can ensure those that deserve the right credit can be given it.
‣ recommend us to friends!

if you check the entry in this comm called tips and tricks there's a code for this that just goes at the very bottom of your coding. just change the 3 in the example to 2

hey i noticed your gif doesn't fit in the wreath because it isn't square so i made yours a square so that it'll fill it out

no unfortunately the fact that it's two different codes is preventing it from auto formatting itself and your gif happens to be taller than the one in the example. all you need to do is go into the global head where you see #links and adjust the number marked top to move the links down some

are you trying geocities or neocities? the one we use is neocities and i'm not sure if you're just trying the wrong one or typo'd it

I FIGURED AS MUCH but you can never be too sure for that exact reason. i use neocities on chrome primarily so it's definitely possible and i've never needed a trick. i would suggest clearing your cache and cookies and restarting chrome to see if the issue persists.

you'll need to take the link from the directory and add it to your coding under where you have the google font and then you should be able to use it in any entry but i do want to note that any webfonts, be it ours or google fonts, will only work on the outside of a cut so it'll work for your bio code on your actual layout but the inside of it, when you click to comment or look at anything under the cut, will still be a standard font

if this is the journal you're trying to use it in you still haven't added the code to your overrides where your layout coding is, but once you have you just replace the font-family with charlotte in that coding. i imagine you want her name to be that font so your code would be

and then you may need to adjust the size accordingly
