is there a second color you'd like to pair with the maroon? i figured you meant white for the font. the reason i bring it up is that unfortunately, maroon doesn't translate to watercolor very well -- it often comes across as brown and given the example you linked, it seems you wanted a more abstract/watercolor "frame" for the invite. also, when you say "toys and food", is this going to be an outdoors event or indoors? you'd be surprised at the difference those details can make in terms of what images i select!
