His conversation with Circe had been rattling around in his brain since he'd met her. Everywhere he turned, there were reminders. The packet Leonard from that gave him his life back remained untouched and unused. How could he move forward when he was still, according to Circe, tethered to the Underworld? He knew he had to do something, even knew what that something was, but couldn't quite bring himself to do it.
He'd bummed around his apartment that morning, half watching television and brooding. Terminator 2 would normally have been a welcome distraction, but who needed to watch a movie about redefining fate when you knew that Fate actually existed, and were capricious bitches at that?
Finally, he'd showered and dressed and headed out into Labyrinth to wander and hopefully find a more successful distraction. He was wandering the mezzanine when he caught a flash of long, dark hair out of the corner of his eye. Smiling ruefully, he watched Persephone make her way into one of the shops. Fate. You really couldn't run, could you?
The smile faded a bit when he recognized the shop she'd ducked into. Curiosity got the better of him, and he followed. The smell of ink and rubbing alcohol were strong, but not unpleasantly so. Blue eyes scanned the interior until he found Persephone idly paging through a book. He bit his lip, then shrugged and approached. In the grand scheme of things, given his life as of late, finding the Queen of the Underworld in a tattoo parlor in Vegas wasn't really all that bizarre.
