Cimorene, the Dragon's Princess ([info]dragonsprincess) wrote in [info]labyrinth_rpg,

Who: Cimorene, Yuna and Hermione
When: Day 3, sometime after dark
Where: On the outskirts of the city, near the labyrinth
What: A walk
Rating: TBA
Status: Incomplete

No closer to any answers, Cimorene was starting to lose her resolve. The effort to gain information on how to get home was starting to wear on her, not to mention the fact that she still had a splitting headache, given the fact that she'd developed a rather large goose egg on the back of it from falling earlier in the day. The answers, she was sure, were in the labyrinth, but getting through it...she didn't know if she had it in her.

She was wearing a new gown, having mastered the ability to have her wardrobe produce a variety of gowns in her size and taste, and was walking through the short grass near the labyrinth. The lights from the city were fainter there, and so Cimorene snapped her fingers, and with a crack, a ball of slightly blueish light hovered above her head, lighting her way. At the same time, she heard a step near her and spun, her hand on the hilt of the sword belted at her waist and her eyes nervous. "Who's there? Show yourself!"

Yuna hadn't come any closer to answers. She had spoken to a very friendly and slightly frightening man, but he hadn't really known much more than he had. She was still no closer to finding her way home, to her friends who were, no doubt, looking for her. Had Spira been destroyed? It wasn't completely impossible. After all,to bring Sin to the brink of destruction and then leave, surely the beast had been angered...

But there was nothing she could do about that, other than try to get home and just keep hoping. But she needed to learn the lay of the land first, that much was clear. So she headed out after dark, meaning to check things out. She hoped to not be distracted by anyone else, which was why she waited until after the sun had gone down. But that wasn't meant to be, she realized, as a glow appeared ahead of her. A woman's voice, sharp and nervous, called out.

Yuna clutched her summoning staff, but approached. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I did not mean to intrude, I'm just trying to find my way home." As she got closer to the woman, she dropped into a bow, meaning to hopefully erase any offense she'd created. "Please, forgive me." If the woman attacked, however, Yuna had her staff. But she didn't want to have to use her Summoning.

Cimorene didn't relax at the sound of the woman's voice, namely because she had a staff. Wizards were men, so that wasn't much of a worry, but she didn't like the idea that there could be a wizard nearby, just waiting for that staff to be passed over. So, she stayed on her guard, hand at her side, but finger pointed, ready to drench any wizard within a hundred yards with soapy, lemony water. That'd show them.

"Leave the staff," she replied, holding her hand out, palm flat, indicating that the woman shouldn't move any closer while she still had it. "Where did you get that? Who from? You know what that is, don't you?" she asked, wondering how far in this woman had been taken. She wouldn't have been the first to fall to the false charm that wizards always seemed to possess, after all. "I won't hurt you, just leave the staff."

"I am Princess Cimorene of the Kingdom of Linderwall, now princess of the King of Dragons, Kazul. And that is a wizard's staff. It's not safe, you really shouldn't carry it around like that," she advised, wondering if there was something in this strange world that could destroy it. There certainly wasn't in her own.

Yuna stopped, surprised by the reaction of the dark-haired woman. Slowly, she raised her head and looked at her blankly. Her gaze moved down to her staff, the staff that allowed her to summon her Aeons, and then back to the woman. "This? I'm sorry, Princess, but I would not leave this aside for anything." She would be nearly powerless, then, with only the power of her white magic to defend her.

She did, however, stop moving forward, out of respect for the woman's obvious unease. "I promise that, if you do not attack me, you have nothing to fear. I only call my Aeons at need." Her voice was earnest, completely devoid of any intent do decieve. "I'm not a wizard! My friend, Lulu, is much more like a wizard, but I've only heard stories about them!"

Hermione felt like some more exploring this place was pretty big and she never saw much of it in two days so far, she grabbed her cloak from the door and wrapped it around herself tightly and ventured off into the dark not scared of any little or maybe big nasty creatures that she may encounter her wand was ready to draw the moment she needed it.

Wondering aimlessly around town she let her thoughts wonder about everything that had happened to her these past few days from being taken something she still could not wrap her head around then to Willow the nice witch she had met that helped her get Crookshanks out of the bag and finally to Xena the big warrior woman who taught her how to use a bow.

Hermione noticed that she had wandered a bit too far when she looked up to see two dark figures only lit by a strange blue orb in the distance standing at what she guessed to be the labyrinth that was talked about being around somewhere, she drew her wand. “Lumos” she whispered holding it up to light her path better as she approached. She noticed that these figures where two woman one with her hand on a sword that rested on her side the other had some sort of staff as she got closer she heard they where talking about Wizards and something about Aeons? “Excuse me but did I just hear you say Wizard and whats a Aeon?”

Cimorene's eyes narrowed. "So that's your staff then?" she asked, and then raised her pre-pointed finger to aim a jet of soapy, lemon-scented water at the woman's foot. There was no point in soaking her completely just to relieve Cimorene's unease, after all. But, as the woman didn't melt, she obviously wasn't a wizard in disguise, so that was something. "Just had to make certain."

The voice at her side had Cimorene turning with the same started look she'd given the other woman, her hand still on her sword. Was this some sort of ambush? Was she going to have to fight her way out? "Haven't a clue, and yes, I did say wizard. That looks exactly like a wizard's staff, and I'd rather avoid having contact with them again, if it's all the same. "I'm Princess Cimorene of--" she stopped herself and shook her head. "Cimorene. And you are?" Then she blinked and turned to the other woman. "You didn't give your name, now that I think of it..."

Hermione was confused by the whole water thing but said nothing and politely answered the woman back “Sorry about that I’m Hermione Granger nice to meet you your Royal Highness or can I call you Cimorene?” she lowered her wand down a bit so she was not shining it in the woman’s faces and took a second to size up the strange staff the other woman was carrying.

“You say that’s a wizards staff? I never heard of a Wizard using a staff before or even a witch for that matter, just wands where I come from, where do you two come from? And whats a Aeon?” she added the last part to the strange woman holding the staff truly intrigued by how it worked and what these Aeon things where but waited calmly for her answers and hoped she never looked to curious.

Yuna watched curiously as the woman did something, and the scent of lemons wafted up from a jet of water directed at her feet. She gasped, but realized it didn't hurt her. Her hands had gone quite tight on her staff, her most powerful Aeons begging to be loosed on the woman, but she held them back. As far as an attack went, it was pretty uninpsired.

She turned to look at the new girl, bowing politely to her. She didn't know her, but that was no reason to be rude. And finally, she turned her attention back to Cimorene.

"I am the Summoner Yuna." After all, Cimorene and Hermione had both given their full names, as far as she could tell. "It is nice to meet you both." She held up her staff, not as an attack, but to show it to them more clearly. "I use this to summon my Aeons. It's not a wizards staff, it's a summoners staff." She frowned thoughtfully and unobstrusively shook the lemony water off her foot.

"An Aeon is a..." She shook her head. "Forgive me, it's hard to discribe. I could show you?"

The princess made a face. "Cimorene is fine, please," she assured the younger girl, shaking her head. "Well met, Hermione, Yuna," she offered, dipping slightly at the pair of them each in turn.

She noticed the light coming from the stick in Hermione's hand and tilted her head to the side a bit. "I've never seen a witch use a wand before," she commented, pointing at it. "Just fairies, but they're fairly useless unless they're performing christening curses anyway," she shrugged. She hadn't had one, but plenty of people she knew had. Rightly annoying.

At Yuna's suggestion, Cimorene nodded and then stepped back next to Hermione. "Hold still," she said quietly, tapped the girl's chest with an outstretched finger, and then threw the energy around the pair of them. It was invisible, but the air around the girls seemed to shimmer. "Just in case," she said with a polite smile at the summoner.

Yuna's eyes widened slightly. "A witch?" She'd missed that detail, and suddenly looked at Hermione a bit more cautiously. But the girl hadn't apparently done anything really bizarre yet, and she didn't seem like she was going to make herself a threat, so she calmed herself and took a step back, preparing herself.

Some of the options, she discarded right away. Bahamet, Anima, and Ifrit were simply too scary. She, even while knowing what to expect, had been frightened of them at first. The choices ran through her head. Ixion? Who didn't like unicorns? Her favorite, Valefor? The playful Magus Sisters?

In the end, though, she went with the Ice Queen Shiva/. for the simple reason that she hoped something that looked like a human, even with blue skin and hair, would be easier to handle. Her staff spun, and a giant ice formation came into being behind her. The air got cold. Deep within ice crystal, something took form. When the ice shattered, Shiva was standing there, looking a little bit confused. Yuna hadn't given her any orders to attack anything.

"This is Shiva." She turned to the other two girls. "She would fight for me, if I told her to. But," She turned back to her Aeon with a smile and a bow. "You're dismissed, Shiva." The Aeon gave a great jump, and disappeared.

Hermione listened to Yuna and watched as she shook her foot the water that came off smelled like lemons, what was this water? She grew confused with Cimorene’s words where she came from fairies needed no wands nor where they aloud to have one only witches and wizards where aloud to carry a wand no magical creature was suppose too. “ Really you never have seen a Witch use a wand? and they let fairies use them, quit a strange sounding place you come from no offence”

“A Summoner? I never heard of one before so I guess you can summon these Aeon things with that staff.” She tuned to Yuna and was becoming more interested her, her magic was again going to be something different then she was use to, she waited as Cimorene walked next to her and was confused by what she did and almost jumped with the unexpected poke in the chest, what was this some kind of shield charm? All she knew the air seemed to shimmer ever so slightly. “What’s this? Also can I ask what was that water you sprayed on Yuna?” she asked very confused to Cimorene now wondering how her magic worked as well.

Hermione moved into a more defensive position with her wand ready to cast just in case, if Cimorene felt the need for this shield she felt she should be ready for something too “Yes I’m a witch but not a evil witch so you have nothing to fear from me, I’m not into the dark arts” she hoped that would be enough to put Yuna at ease, She watched the huge ice show that took place behind Yuna in amazement watching it form and even more amazed when a blue woman came out of it when it shattered she looked pretty much like a human but she know she was something else.

“So this Shiva is a Aeon wow she’s amazing your magic is so powerful being able to summon and control her, this is nothing like any magic where I come from sure I can muster up some birds but their nothing compared to her. Hermione took a few steps towards Yuna “So were did you lean to do it?” she asked very excitedly then turned her head to Cimorene “What did you think of Shiva?”

"They don't need them, at least, where I'm from," Cimorene said with a shake of her head at Hermione. She blinked and laughed a bit at Hermione's idea that her world was strange. "You haven't heard of the fairies in the Sleeping Beauty story?" she asked, knowing that the tales of her family and others like it were spread far and wide. At least, where she was from. "Rose was my great aunt." She kept her gaze trained on Yuna while answering the girl's other questions. "Shielding spell. And soapy water, with a bit of lemon, melts wizards. It's not permanent, but it helps a great deal when you're surrounded. But she's obviously not a wizard," Cimorene shrugged.

Cimorene's eyes widened at Shiva, and she felt a great deal more at ease when the apparition disappeared. She took down the shield and let out a bit of a sigh, relaxing slightly. No one was looking for a fight, and Cimorene knew that if they each laid a portion of their cards on the table, everyone would feel a great deal more at ease. "Perhaps we should introduce ourselves a bit better," she said with an air that she generally used in the court, though it wasn't on purpose. She was just used to taking charge.

Spreading her skirts, Cimorene sat gracefully in the grass and folded her hands in her lap, forcing herself to be comfortable, so that the others might do the same. "I am Cimorene, as I said before. I was taken from the Enchanted Forest, where I was the princess of the King of Dragons. Where I come from, as I said, witches have no need for wands or staffs, like the pair of you carry. I'm not one, though I do have some skill with magic, but it's things I've picked up along the way," she said, gesturing to the blue ball that had been floating above her head the entire time, which sank into the grass in the center of the three women, functioning as both a light source and a bit of warmth.

The chill in the night air that had come with Shiva slowly faded, and always, Yuna was sad to see her Aeon friend go. But it was better for the creatures to rest in their own homes and only come when needed, and she was pretty sure that it wouldn't be in this case. She smiled slightly at Hermione's reaction, and bowed her head to the young witch.

"Yes, that is what a Summoner does. I had to go to many temples and pray at each of them to get the Aeons I have. Shiva was a gift of the Fayth from Macalania Temple." She frowned thoughtfully. "Birds? Valefor sort of looks like a bird..." But enormous enough that Yuna had had no problems being caught by the strong Aeon.

At Cimorene's suggestion, the Summoner nodded. "I think that would be best." She seated herself carefully, so that nothing immodest showed and her kimono skirt stayed fully covering her legs. "Hello, Cimorene, Hermione." She nodded to each of them in turn. "I come from a land called Spira, a world in peril from a monster called Sin. I know White magic, which means I can heal, and you've seen one of my Aeons." She turned to look curiously at the glowing ball. "I've never seen anything like that..." She admitted "Or like your stick..." She gestured to Hermione's wand.

“Yes I have heard of Sleeping Beauty but that’s just a story like Cinderella made up it never really happened where I come from but maybe in your world their real” this really was fascinating to her that the people here could have come from the fairy tales she heard as a child and she guessed this made the point Willow brought up about her being from a book more real, she was silent for a moment as she thought about that. “Really that’s pretty neat I guess but I don’t think that will work here” Hermione could not help but giggle at the thought of a Wizard melting with mix of soapy water and lemon.

“Oh really so is the whole Summoner thing pretty religious?” With all the temples and praying it sounded pretty religious, she now actually noticed that Yuna seemed pretty religious too with the bowing and the way she dressed was kind of like a priestess come to think of it. “Valefor is he a Aeon too could you maybe show him to us?” Hermione now turned her attention to Cimorene who now was speaking “Yes I think that’s a good Idea” she said walking over to join the two older woman around the Blue orb “Nox” she put out the light in her wand before sitting down crossed legged on the ground.

Hermione listened intently to the woman as they each took their turn speaking and pondered on what to say when it was her turn. “Well I come from a place where wizards and witches live in secret from muggles that’s what we call non magical people, In my world all people who uses magic have wands as well young wizards and witches are taught magic in schools, my school its called Hogwarts I was just outside it in a small wizard town when I was taken here actually, My home is in the middle of a war against the most powerful dark wizard in our time Lord Voldemort he’s so feared that wizards dare not speak his name and my friend Harry Potter is the chosen one that’s to defeat him and we were in the middle of that actually so now all I can do is hope he’s and everyone else is ok”

She stayed quit for a second and raised her wand looking at Yuna “This is called a wand I use it to cast my spells here let me show you” she pointed the wand up to the sky “Avis” when she said it a small flock of yellow birds flew out from the tip of her wand into the sky and flew around for a bit then came back to Hermione flying around her head like a halo “See this is about all I can summon and I can’t really do anything like Cimorene's ball of light either” she turned back to look at Cimorene “How did you make this anyway?” Hermione never really seen magic like what Yuna and Cimorene was doing and was really interested on how it worked.

"She was very real," Cimorene insisted with a emphatic nod. There was no maybe about it. "I haven't run into any wizards to try it on yet. But I don't see why it wouldn't work."

She listened to each woman's story in turn and nodded a bit. Hermione's was sad, of course, and Cimorene gave her a small hopeful smile, but given her own uncertainty, she certainly couldn't offer much more than that. After all, her absence was destroying her whole world. "I hope things work out," she sighed, shaking her head a little bit.

"Oh this? It's dragon magic," she said with a slight shrug. "Where I am from, there are different kinds. Most can be learned to some extent by just about everyone. My talent doesn't extend much past a basic invisibility spell though."

Yuna recoiled a bit when Hermione spoke of religion. There was a long pause as she fought past the hurt and confusion she had been feeling when she'd learned Yevon's dark secrets. Finally, she shook her head slightly, her voice calm when she spoke. "No. It's not religious." There was a long pause, and then she sighed. "Not anymore."

At the request, Yuna politely inclined her head. "As you wish. Valefor was my first..." She rose to her feet, and the staff spun in a slightly different way. Out of a black hole, the giant, bird-like Valefor appeared. Fully three times Yuna's size, at least, she still walked up to the creature without fear and embraced it.

Once more, however, she didn't make Valefor linger long. With one final pat, she dismised it and then returned to her seated position around the glowing light with the other girls. She nodded to both Hermione and Cimorene, frowning thoughtfully.

"It seems that we all do magic differently. I with a staff, Hermione with her wand, and you with..." She frowned. "Do you need anything, or is it just as you will?" She shook her head. "The White Magic, I learned from the time I was very small. The priests of Yevon taught me... and the Aeons, I had to go on a pilgrimmage and convince to help me. It wasn't something that could even be done here, I don't think. Only on Spira."

“Well this dragon magic is nothing like the magic in my world only a wizard or witch could use magic” she looked at the blue orb for a little longer in interest. “Oh” Hermione also felt bad about asking Yuna that now it was apparent that something happened maybe a corruption in the church or something but it seemed like Yuna did not want to really speak about it so she left it their.

She was happier when Yuna got up and Summoned Valefor, he was much bigger then the birds she just conjured up which flue away with the presents of this giant bird creature. “He’s amazing” she beamed taking in Valefor, she wished this sort of thing was possible in her world she knew Hagrid would like them but then she gave it some thought and decided that was not really a good idea giving someone like Voldemort or Draco Malfoy access to things like a Aeon.

After she watched Valefor leave and Yuna Come sit she smiled and returned the nod at Yuna “Thanks for showing him to us” Hermione was very grateful she did this these Aeons were very interesting and she hoped one day she could see them all “Yeah it seems that way and yeah how does your Dragon magic work?” this was a good point Yuna brought up Cimorene had no wand and no staff also she never said one word when she made that shield.

Cimorene leaned back slightly when the bird thing appeared out of nowhere, but other than that, she didn't show any fear, just interest and idle amusement. It must have been nice, to be able to cause creatures such as those up to do your bidding. Cimorene was more of a hands-on type of person though.

"No, I don't need anything as far as staffs or wands go," she said with a shake of her head and a little smile. "The initial casting is more difficult, and usually requires ingredients, but once a spell is set, I only need the code phrase, and sometimes a pinch of an herb or something," she told the women, patting the little bag on her hip.

"Every intelligent creature - where I am from - carries their own inherent magic or abilities. If you have a mind to, you can learn just about any variety, though it's always easier if you're part of the species that created it," Cimorene explained. "I've lived with the dragons for quite a while now, and so it comes easier to me than it would to a normal human."

Yuna nodded slowly. "Even without my staff, I can do some magic. The Aeons will even come, sometimes, if I'm in danger, if I don't have my staff. But that's really rare." And it was only that one time with Valefor, after she'd jumped off the high tower in Bevelle to keep from having to marry Seymour. "But without the staff, I can heal, or cure poison, things like that."

She listened to the other women speak, fascinated. It was so different, and she'd never heard anything like it. By the end, her eyes were wide with all the new information. Slowly, she shook her head, looking at the other two thoughtfully.

"It's kind of embarassing to say this myself, but... we are all quite powerful, aren't we? In our own ways? I wonder if there's a reason for that, if the King prefers to kidnap people like us..." She frowned thoughtfully, working that through her head. But she looked curiously at Cimorene. "Dragons? Oh, yes, you mentioned that before. I think perhaps dragons are different in your world and mine."

“Oh that sounds very interesting” Hermione looked at the little bag Cimorene had and wondered what kind of things she had in their and wondered how many she could find lurking in Professor Snape’s potion cupboard. “Really dragons what’s it like living with them?” it seemed like something Hagrid would do but nothing really appealing to a normal person Hagrid never had the sense of danger that a normal person had, she wondered if she could learn any of these magic’s from other worlds now she really wanted to know how the blue orb worked.

“I really need my wand to be able to do anything but I hope staying here I could learn not to always have to use it” she had come across a lot of different magic types in the days spent here and wanted to know about them all and wondered if she could, at least while she was here where all of these magic’s could exist together. “Maybe your right Yuna” Hermione agreed now that she made her point maybe Jareth wanted powerful people for some forced army or something now that she thought about it she shuttered but it could be true for all she knows, Yuna’s Aeons where powerful and Cimorene’s magic sounds pretty powerful and she herself was the best witch in her year.

“I hope that’s not the case Yuna” she said looking concerned “Who knows what he would want us for then” again she shuttered at the thought maybe Jareth was not as good as Hermione gave him credit for even knowing he did take her from her home but still she could not think of him totally evil without proof. “Yeah I think their different in my world too their pretty aggressive, well at least the ones I seen” the only dragons she seen up close would be the dragons that the Triwizard champions had to face back in her fourth year and also Norbert but he was only a baby dragon

Yuna shook her head. "There is no way to know for certain, Hermione, and it doesn't change how I feel. I still need to get home. My friends are in danger." And that, as far as she was concerned, was that. She wouldn't sit around here doing nothing while her whole world might be being destroyed back home. She didn't have that in her.

"Excuse me, I'm sorry, but... I think I'm going to go think about all this." She rose gracefully to her feet, bowing to the other two women, and then turned away. "I hope we meet again. I've enjoyed our conversation."

With that, she hurried away. There was a lot to think about. What were Jareth's motives? And how was she going to get home? The summoner sighed as she retraced her steps. The conversation with the other two women had been strange, and a little terrifying.
