The cowboy gave her a wide, easy grin as she spoke. "Well, ain't that good news for me, then." He really was far too happy about this. He realized he was a little bit older than the average bachelor, but with his two jobs, he'd rarely had time for socializing. It wasn't really the sort of thing that led to meeting women. And, well, lately he'd been missing it. His parents had been, and were still, very happy together. He'd seen that example his whole life. Of course, it didn't help that his mother liked to ask him about if he was engaged yet every single time he saw her, which was far too often for that sort of thing. And she seemed spirited, much more than most of the girls he did manage to meet...
He laughed softly, genuinely amused, as she took off toward the dance floor with him in tow. "I'll take that as a yes." He murmured as he took her hand and put a hand on her waist, pleased beyond measure when she shifted close to him. But those dark eyes took on a thoughtful cast as she spoke, and he frowned just a tiny bit. "I don't rightly know. When I first talked to ya, I could swear that I knew you, and sometimes when you smile, I think..." He shrugged, and then grinned the whole thing off.
"Well, anyway, we know each other now." He began to move with the music, not expertly by any means, but at least he wasn't trampling all over her feet. It was a song unlike any he'd heard before, played on instruments he wasn't sure he recognized entirely, but it had a beat suited for dancing. "Maybe it's destiny... do you believe in destiny, Miss Jane?"
