Though Marcus was generally unaware of the existence of those around him, he had enough presence of self to respond to the sound of his own name being called. When Legolas approached him, he stopped moving his spoon and sighed with the effort of tearing himself away from his grief. Managing to look up, he saw his elven friend's pleasant countenance, but could not manage any expressions of enthusiasm in response.
"Legolas. Hello."
His duty done, he sighed again and turned back to his soup, only to stop when the elf continued speaking. Closing his eyes briefly, he steeled himself for an extended conversation.
