Through the night he wandered, not feeding, just thinking. The conversations that happened in the journal were always very interesting, and incredibly thought provoking. Did he trust Schuldig? When it really, really came down to it, did he trust anyone? Rose seemed to think he had. And the reactions of the Ranger who hated him so much, even that hadn't left him entirely unscathed. Of course, he was a vampire, a monster. What did he expect? He was lucky that there were any mortals who were willing to be around him.
The sun would rise in a couple of hours, he thought, but it didn't entirely matter. The cloud cover was so thick, he could probably do well enough, at least inside. The harmful rays of the sun would barely penetrate the thick cloud cover. As long as he didn't try to sunbathe or something, he would be okay. So he wasn't in much of a hurry, and walked slowly, slowly enough for a mortal to see him, for once. He often forgot to do so, and it happened more often the older he got.
It was unusual to see someone else out and about, so he was naturally curious when he saw the human. Reaching out idly with his mind, he scanned his surface thoughts. So innocent, this one! It was enchanting, and unfortunately, it got the attention of the vampire. Stealthily, he slipped in behind the human, ending up beside him, staring into the same tank. "The fish, what fascinates you so about them?" He behaved himself, for now. He'd play nice. Unless, of course, the temptation was simply too great.
