Taking a step back, Kirk's hand moved to the place where his phaser would be if he'd been on a landing party. Instead of grabbing a hold of a phaser his hand just sort of came to rest upon his hip. This wasn't what he'd been expecting at all in this place. Sure, she was attractive but she appeared hostile and he was unarmed. In his current state he really couldn't expect to get by on his charm and wit alone... his looks had always been a very big part of all of that.
"The Underground?" He asked, looking as his surroundings once more. Was that really what they called it? A land full of chocolate buildings and candy scenery shouldn't really have a name like 'The Underground' that sounded so dark and forboding and here the ground was made up of... what appeared to be antique game boards. "Look... no offense but I don't need a tour. The minute I get ahold of Starfleet I'll get myself beamed back to my ship and be out of here. I have a five-year mission to begin and I'm a Captain now. They can't just beam me wherever the hell they want."
Pulling out his communicator he flipped it open. "Kirk to Enterprise, come in Enterprise..." No answer, no static. That was odd in and of itself but he couldn't let it bother him. Turning the dial he tried another frequency. "Lieutenant Uhura, this is Captain Kirk do you copy?" Again there was nothing. He knew she was always monitoring the frequencies. She would've picked up. "Starfleet command?" Nothing. Maybe he had been wrong. Maybe getting out of here wouldn't be as easy as he'd thought.
Turning back to the woman he made a slight face. "Okay so maybe I was wrong. It won't be as easy as a simple call to the Enterprise or Starfleet command." Stepping back off the game board he immediately thought of disassembling the communicator to make sure it was in working order but... this wasn't really the time. No Bones, No Uhura, No Spock... it was all right. He could deal with this.
