Der Tod raised an eyebrow at Armand's comment. "I do not lie." He said. Stretch or omit the truth yes. Redirect the question or change the subject yes. But he did not, as a general rule lie outright. And he had no reason to hide who -what- he was here.
He gave a slight, soft laugh at Armand holding the door for him, but he nodded a polite thank you. There was indeed a strange little creature behind a desk. As he approached, the creature pulled out two items and placed them on the counter, indicating that Der Tod should take them. The first was a key, and as Armand had indicated there was a room number etched on it. He pocketed the key and turned his attention to the other item, a small book bound in black leather.
"And this is?" he asked. Sure he could figure it out himself, but it was so amusing to watch Armand fall over himself trying to prove how useful and helpful he was.
