"Goblins?" Rudolf echoed, raising an eyebrow. Even more like a fairy tale, then. He decided it was probably best if he didn't think about such things right now, and concentrated on figuring out the basics. He was both pleased and saddened that Gabrielle was also a stranger in this new land. Pleased, because it meant she probably understood at least a little of what was going through his mind concerning the circumstances. Saddened, because Rudolf didn't like the idea of anyone being a prisoner if they'd not done anything wrong. And, since he had no idea how Gabrielle acted except for this dialogue with him, he could think nothing but positive thoughts about her character. Aside from the rather odd choice of clothing, but perhaps it was more fitting for wherever she'd come from. "I'm sorry you've been stolen away too," he said.
Rudolf chuckled when she asked what "fraulein" meant. "It's a title," he explained, smiling at her. "Miss, I suppose, would be its equivalent." Her smile was infectious, and Rudolf found himself grinning in return. "I would appreciate the help, thank you," he said earnestly. "Please, after you."
