Tonks could tell that Rose was calming down a bit, and it made her happy. She liked it when the people are her were comfortable. It made everything more pleasant, and that was something she was keenly interested in. Plus, now that the girl was talking a bit more, she noted that the accent was more than a little familiar. Tonks had an odd mixture of elements to her voice. Her mother was upper class, her father a Muggle with a Cockney accent, so the combination was interesting.
"A book!" Tonks brightened up considerably. If it was like the journals she knew of, she would be okay. She could keep in contact with people, and try to track Marcus down. It should be easy to find out if he was here. But for now, she had to focus on getting all the information she could. "Well, hopefully I'll run into people I know."
She smiled at the other woman. "Although I always like meeting new people, too. Life gets boring, otherwise." She nodded in response to Rose's comment. "Yeah, I'm a bit off it myself, actually. I want to go home. My family will be missing me." She shrugged and glanced around, once more taking everything in. Her gaze went back to her companion, however, when the girl introduced herself.
"Hullo, Rose!" She spoke cheerfully enough, though without the trace of cloying, sickeningly-sweet tone that some people used. "Huh. Okay. A High King. Well, maybe I'll have to find him and have a couple of words with him." None of which would be pleasant words, she was sure. She returned the sarcastic smile.
"So, have you found your room? I should go find mine... have you had a chance to look around much yet? Is there anything I'm supposed to do? Merlin, this is getting tiresome. I don't want to figure this place out, but I guess I don't have much choice."
