Rose Tyler Will Defend the Earth ([info]plusone) wrote in [info]labyrinth_rpg,
The girl talked quite a bit, but that suited Rose just fine for the moment. She wasn't exactly feeling jabbery. It also reminded her a bit of her mum, talking to cover up loads of problems at once, even though this woman couldn't have been much older than Rose herself was. It was comforting, just the same, especially since this Tonks character was one of the few Rose had heard with a similar accent to her own. So many voices all around and so few sounded comforting in the slightest.

"Gabrielle, I think so, yeah. I haven't seen her--well, actually, I probably have, I've probably seen everyone here. There's not that many, after all." Except those odd little creatures. Goblins or something, she'd swear, but they weren't real, were they? "But I've only spoken to her through the book they'll give you. You write in it, people write back. Like..." She'd say 'chatting', but so few here seemed to have a clue what that was. "Like letter writing, but instantly. So I don't know if there's anyone else here with her, or even what she looks like."

At this Tonks person's question, Rose managed a smile, if weak smile. "Just a bit tired of being pulled through dimensions, honestly. Takes a toll on you, physically, you know?" Well, maybe she didn't. But she had been kidnapped before, so many she had some idea. Rose herself had only just begun exploring the different universes and dimensions in time and space, and it had all been so experimental that she hadn't been prepared for the actual physical weaknesses that it would cause. "I'm sorry, listen to me babble on, no manners. I'm Rose." She was so careful about the words she spoke and to who, and especially using her name, but if she was correct and this world was different from any of the Earth ones she'd visited, it shouldn't matter. Should it? "He's... I don't know, actually." Rose glanced around, but none of the beings around her resembled the one that had addressed the lot of them the day before. "I haven't seen him since. He is the High King, after all, probably thinks he's too good to come mingle with his minions."

But, much to her own surprise, a tiny smile flickered over her features, and though her tone was sarcastic, it was also almost playful. Bugger. She couldn't go getting too comfortable here.
