After dancing with Jacob River had grown tired. Destroying a room and then playing outside would do that to a girl. As soon as she left him and returned to her room she fell ontop of her bed and fell fast asleep. Falling asleep was nice. It was a casual luxuray she hardly ever had the fortune to experience.
Everything was quiet for River until early morning she awoke from a combination of enough sleep and she could hear him. River had often made herself think she heard him over the period of the past couple of days but this one was too real for her to ignore. Her eyes flew open and she turned to where she could hear his voice. Though instead of finding nothing she found him. Simon. Her brother. She looked down at his hand around hers and knew it was real. She wasn't dreaming it. Simon really was with her. "Simon!" she stared up at him wide-eyed. Slowly her other hand reached up and touched his face. It really was him.
When she finally convinced herself he really was there next to her she started talking a million words a minute. "Simon! I--I thought I was lost! I didn't leave. I wouldn't. He says we were brought here. Stolen. Kidnapped. From our worlds...for his game. No way out." she started to cry all over again. A combination of the fright she had been feeling for the past couple of days and her sudden happiness that she finally had Simon with her. She felt safe again.
