As soon as the words had left her mouth, Bella regretted them. If the little girl was alone, which was the case; she risked upsetting her, which she had, of course. "Ohh.." She said, a worried noise more than an actual intelligible expression, "I'm so sorry." She found herself squatting then to be on the same level as the little girl, not knowing if she should offer a hug or something else to ease the troubling memories she'd forced the little girl to recall.
"Here," Bella began, trying to think of some way to make this better, "Why don't you come with me and we'll take a look around. We can find you something to eat and if you want we can even try some of the rides." She took in the child's full appearance now, and her brow creased as she thought about what time or place the little girl might be from. It made her mad to think that whoever had taken them had pulled the child from her home without anyone to watch over her. "Or, is there someone you came here with?" She asked, trying to calm her anger, hoping the poor little child wasn't alone. "We can look for them if there is, and if not you can hang out with me, okay?" She extended a hand to the frail looking child. She couldn't imagine how scared she must because of all the changing world around her. "I'm Bella, by the way." She added, in case the little girl had been taught not to go anywhere with strangers.
