Sympathy once more touched her features. She had seen the way it had hurt people to not have their families with them more than once. And yet, it hadn't seemed to make it bitter, like it had so many people she'd known. Maybe it had something to do with how young he'd been. Either way? It impressed her, much as everything she'd heard from him had.
"Lila annoyed me sometimes, but I loved her." She smiled fondly, remembering her little sister. "She always used to tag along with me and my friends when I went out. But now, I... I worry about how she's doing, since I'm here." Although, she doubted that Lila even knew she was gone yet. After all, it had only been a short time, really.
As her hand was shifted, Gabrielle smiled slightly down at Caspian. This was definitely pleasant, she decided. Her own fingers were small and slender, but bore the callouses of practice with weaponry, and she didn't mind the roughness of his hands. Noticing that he was tired, she made her voice soothing. If he needed sleep, she would help. "Fishing, cleaning, all the normal things, I guess." She grinned. "I used to sneak off into the woods, though, and pretend I was on an adventure. But, at the end of the day, my favorite thing to do was to read."
