Letha listened with interest, taking small bites of the pie. A small smile played on her lips as he spoke of certain things that stuck out in his mind. She herself remembered everything, but that was only because she kept her journals. Her journals kept her mind as sharp as a tack; her one fear was to lose everything eventually and go crazy like some older vampires did. Her sire had taught her how to read and right and the importance of keeping journals, from there it had flourished and she wrote every evening when she woke.
His last confession though, shocked her. He'd never been with another. How could that be?
"Jeremiah..." she breathed out his name and moved to place her plate on a nearby table before turning to look at him once more. "I..how.." she didn't even know what to say. "How can that be? You've basically partied like a rock star, how could you not be with anyone else?" She felt entirely guilty now, as she had not waited for him. She had had plenty of men and women during the past eighty years, and in fact when she fed is when her sexual encounters generally happened. They never meant anything, and since he had arrived here she hadn't touched another in that way and only just fed, much to the humans dismay.
