There was no smirk or smart alec remark made when he watched her use the napkin, so the simple reason that he had just done the same. Still that warm smile of his returned as Jeremiah nodded his head. Hearing that she had followed his music was a surreal thing, in truth he hadn't followed his own career. The years had been such a blur, and the life on the road was so transient in nature, that the vamp never could tell where he was at any given moment. Oh he remembered some of the artists he had played with, but what he recalled more then anything was the music.
Time had always flowed differently for one like him; never aging and never really changing. Still he hadn't sought out the public's eye, but found himself there more oft then not. Back before technology made it harder to hide, things had been so simple. After all he could play with a band or just write songs in one place and then move on and change his name. Yet as television and the internet began to bloom hiding in plain sight became more of a challenge. So the musician began to alter his appearance and even his genre of music. In truth it didn't ever matter much to him whether it was rock and roll, blues, rap, or some other style. For in the end he never stopped searching and writing the lyrics that flowed so easily onto the pad.
"Sorry love, hope ya didn't listen to it all...cause if I recall the 70's hadn't been the kindest to my craft...hated that fucking disco shit we performed, but ya had to go with the flow back then." With a laugh he shook his head as Miah recalled some of the fashion he had gone through as the years crept by. "Fucking bell bottoms."
The kiss on his cheek would have had him blushing, were it physically possible, but at loving command Jeremiah just flashed her a smile and a wink before disappearing into the kitchen. It took only a moment to rejoin her on the porch, two plates in his hands and a bottle of wine tucked under his arm. After offering her a plate and setting down his own he vanished and returned with two glasses. He spoke not a word until the drinks had been poured, he final sat down on the chair beside hers, and he had managed to light a cigarette. "Missed this most of all, I think...I mean don't get me wrong, darling, love every second of exploring and tasting you and that perfect little body...but dig just being still beside ya as well."
