Big Game Hunting
Who: Adam Locke and Dani
When: Week Eight; Thursday afternoon, Jan 22nd.
Where: The woods on the outskirts of town.
Summary: Dead bear and a bloody wolf.
Warnings: TBD.
Frustration seemed to be a common occurrence of late for the Alpha. Being trapped and cut off from his pack had been rough enough. Yet even as Adam struggled to come to terms with his new life in town, well the hits just kept coming. Torn between feeling powerless to help the little snow leopard, and feeling a mixture of shame\confusion for how things transpired, the wolf needed to get away for a bit. Sadly though there was no where really to go.
The forest at least provided some minor form of distraction; after all within the woods he could find the stillness that the town itself lacked. He had considered shifting into the wolf but Adam settled on taking a run on two legs instead. Amid the trees and sounds of nature he found it easier to clear his mind. At least more so then a jog through the populated town. However all the running in the world couldn't completely shake the thoughts that lingered.
Somewhere out there was the young woman...the one who had just recently sunk her claws into him. Oh her savage attack had taken the Alpha by surprise, but it was his reaction to it all that truly troubled him more. There was no lingering rage for the bloodshed; if anything the wolf had found the display to be so primal...and beautiful. No, it was conflict he felt over the warring feelings of desire and self loathing that caused Adam to push himself to just keep running.
Never before had he hated himself, not like he did right now. After all Liliana was out there somewhere in pain, but the wolf was completely powerless to help. Those thoughts of his cycled through an endless loop; desire, shame, self hatred, repeat...but his mind went blank suddenly as his nose caught wind of a familiar scent. With a snarl the wolf stopped mid stride, eyes flashing gold as the scent of the grizzly bear pulled all his focus. Had he been even a little alert Adam would have given the bear a wide berth, but for the first time all day a smile finally touched the Alpha's face...as his fangs and claws came forth.
Two roars echoed out across the woods before silence fell as the wolf lunged at the charging bear. The fight itself lasted only a brief moment or two, but the kill was still so very satisfying. As powerful as the great lumbering beast was it could not keep pace with the Alpha's speed, and while both wolf and bear had landed heavy blows it was Adam that walked away victorious; if not covered in more then a few claw marks and caked in fresh blood. Frustration sated at last, or at least for now, Adam slowly started making his way back toward civilization to grab a hot shower and a change of clothing.
