A Good Night's Sleep
Who: Jacob Denmer and OTA
When: Week Eight; Monday Afternoon, Jan 19th.
Where: The witch's shop
Summary: The blind healer feels weird.
Warnings: Possible swearing
Time may have moved slower for the witch yet every day always started the same. Waking from a listless sleep, waking up in agonizing pain. Such was the life of the one who took the pain and wounds of others into his own flesh and bone. In truth Jacob had collected more injuries and scars then should have been humanly possible. Sure sure he wasn't human, but still his body had been broken so many times over that it took everything he had not to wake up screaming. Granted it helped that the witch knew how to brew a mean potion...hell the pain was the real reason he had worked so hard to master his craft. Still as he awoke from his dreamless state the blind man felt no pain at all.
It was such an odd feeling to not have his body sending waves of crippling pain through his very being. Odder still that the man felt the little tingling sensation where his eyes had once been. After all how could he feel anything there when he had lost not just his sight but his physical eyes so many years ago. With a worried look across his face Jacob got out of bed, and sighed as his hands moved across his body. The lack of scars shocked him, for just hours ago his flesh had been a tapestry of wounds that once belonged to others. Yet all trace of them had just vanished.
There was something amiss, to be sure, however this level of magical healing was beyond his own making. Concern sprung forth in his mind, but there was something else so foreign as well...joy. Oh the healer had always bore the pain and ugly wounds with pride, but in this moment he found himself enjoying the fact that for the first time in decades he wasn't hurting. Heck without the pain he didn't need to down a handful of potions just to numb himself enough to get out of bed.
Giddy or not there was work to be done. The shop needed to be opened and researching this current...blessing? Sure sure, why not. Researching this blessing had to get under way. So without delay the blind man quickly dressed and made his way downstairs; opening the shop up for the day before shambling into the back where he kept his witchy setup. The smile he wore was for once so very real, yet as Jacob's finger tips began to brush across the braille within his family tome...his free hand continued to rub at the tape over his eyes...for that tingling sensation remained.
