People Are Strange Who: Emi and Beau When: Week One: Monday December 1st, Late Evening Where: Twisted Forest Circus Summary: A quick break Warnings/Rating: Some language Completed
Even in December, the Circus did well, attendance wise. The sun had set hours ago and people in Rinth looking for something to do had filled the area. A lot of them stayed within the main tent for warmth, but others were wandering, eating cotton candy or drinking hot chocolate. Emilia had been busy enough with her readings, but by eight thirty, she was ready for a cigarette. She stepped out of her tent and took in the smell of popcorn being sold nearby. Her gaze drifted about the faces wandering by. Some were familiar to her, others only vaguely so. Living in Rinth, it was inevitable that given enough time, one would get to know just about everyone.
Leaving her tent open just in case someone happened by and wanted a reading, Emi walked to the small wooden crate resting beside her tent that she often used as a makeshift chair when she took a break. She pulled her cigarettes from her pocket and knew she ought to go behind the tent, or wander away from the crowd. Most people didn't like being around cigarette smoke, even outside. But Emi enjoyed people watching, especially on her breaks. It was entertainment in it's purest form. People tripping, laughing at a joke or fighting with a friend or lover. The kids were always picking their noses, screaming at their parents or stuffing their faces with fried food. Honestly, people in general were stranger than anything she had ever witnessed in the Circus.
Emi got comfortable and shivered once against the chill before lighting her cigarette and slipping her free hand beneath her thigh to keep it warm.
