Erik had expected to be asked more, or that the tattooed man might ask him to demonstrate. That was something he could have done easily; he had a cottonmouth within handy reach in the back of his truck just in case. Of course his actual act had more kick to it and a lack of much clothing on him; he'd noticed that the ladies liked that. It was dramatic, and it showed more of the effects of a bite or sting.
"Yeah, I guess you could say that," he replied to the statement of what his gift was. He'd never thought of it as a gift or a curse either. It just was. It had come in handy a few times, for sure.
Erik was mildly surprised when the man started moving away, but he followed. It sounded as if he could have a place here, so he was willing to be accommodating. "Just got here tonight," he said. "Saw an ad someplace for the circus, and I'd had enough of Seattle."
