Victoire found herself smiling in spite of herself. She hadn't been very social since Yuri left; most of her encounters were with the other girls at Fancy's and her clients. She refused to associate with Nazis or men outside of the business, and really, Anouk's eccentricities were different and a bit refreshing. Victoire's brief annoyance had melted and she really looked forward to a cup of something at the cafe.
She led the way to a small place across the road. It was still open, fortunately, but by the looks of the buildings around it was lucky to be so. Victoire held the door open for her companion and selected a small table near the window in the front corner of the shop. "Would you like anything to drink?" Victoire asked, digging in her bag for a few Reichmarks. Her occupation brought her a little more income than most and she didn't mind sharing. After all, Frenchmen had to support each other if they wanted to get through this war alive.
