Back on track! Hope you enjoyed the back story of how Gennosuke and Haruki met. Now unto chapter 3
Chapter 3
The grin on Gennosuke's face sets off Sei who grabs Gennosuke by the collar of his shirt. "I asked you a question. How do you know my brother's name?" Chojiro moves closer and Gennosuke puts up his hand up to stop him. He removes Sei's hand and looks him in the eye. He doesn't look back but he speaks to Haruki. "Pretty protective brother you got here." "Don't you speak to him asshole! Just answer my question." "I know him because he is a prosecutor. He is VERY important to me." Sei scoffs at Gennosuke's words. Haruki sees the anger growing in Sei. He walks over to him. "Sei, let's go." Sei turns to Haruki. "Why did you call this bastard by his first name?" "Because I told him too." Gennosuke says before Haruki has the chance to respond. "I like the way it sounds coming from him." "YOU!" Sei yells and lounges towards Gennosuke. Haruki steps in front of Sei before he reaches him. He looks Sei sternly in the eye "I said let's go, Sei." Nobody says another word after that. The only sound is Haruki and Sei's footsteps as they walk out the door.
Back home Gennosuke collapses on the couch. Sinking his face into the cushion he damns himself for acting so jealous. To think it turned out to be his brother makes it even worse. On top of the Chojiro who was already suspicious of some change in his life saw the whole thing. 'But it's not the first thing you assume between two guys... Right?' Gennosuke thinks to himself. "So... Are you going to tell me what's going on Kumicho?" Gennosuke turns his head and looks at Chojiro. The look he has is one Gennosuke hates the most. That 'I know something, but won't say I do' look Chojiro gets when he's caught Gennosuke doing something. Trying hard to ignore it Gennosuke sits up. "I have no idea what your talking about." He reaches in his pocket and puts a cigarette in his mouth. While searching for his lighter he hears a flicking sound. Looking up Chojiro holds out his lighter and lights the cigarette. "Sticking your head out for someone who should be viewed as an enemy is a bit odd. You also looked surprised when you found out it was Uchida-san's brother." "The man looked like he was being attacked! Should I have just stood there!? Of course when I found out it was his brother and he wasn't being attacked I was surprised. I mean---" "GENNOSUKE!" Chojiro puts his hand on Gennosuke's shoulder. "I am not asking you as your senior advisor or even someone apart of the Sekigawa-gumi. I am asking you as someone who sees you as their very own son." Chojiro's words replay over and and in Gennosuke's head as he sits there. Due to his moment of jealousy he has been backed into and even larger corner than what just occurred a moment ago. He can't simply act the the bad guy and get away with it. He now has to protect himself from the very person who raised him. A tinge of pain arises from that idea. Up until now it was almost as though his home life and the time he's spent with Haruki were two separate things. But as his feelings grew stronger the more the two mixed together. Now he has become blind to the line that was drawn between them.
"You have to hear this!" "Sei don't." As soon as they got home Sei burst through the door and called the family into the living room. Haruki tried to stop him. Both of his brothers have been very protective of him. Even when he didn't need it, if one of them was around they'd always stand their and scowl at others who came around. To Haruki it was more like they were protecting a parent then a brother. "What has got you so worked up dear?" The mother says looking at both Sei and Haruki with great concern. If Sei tells what happened there's nothing Haruki can do but sit there. Defending Gennosuke's actions in anyway will tip them off. He can only sit in silence and try to clean up the mess when it's done. Haruki's father turns and looks at him. Haruki knows if he shows any sign of weakness, everything he has tried so hard to cover up will unravel. "He even said he made bro call him by his first name!" "He what!?" Jun stands up in anger. "That bastard! If I wasn't---" "Now, now, calm down you two. Does that even sound logical?" "Your mother's right. Do you really believe Haruki-kun would bow to some criminal?" The room grows silent. Haruki sits unmoved. It's taking his entire will power to show absolutely no emotion on his face. He might as well be traveling a road of broken glass barefoot. Jun sits back down with a sigh. The father turns towards Haruki and puts his hand on his knee. "Isn't that right Haruki-kun?" "Yes father. " No emotion, no fluctuation. Just a simple straight answer. The tension in the room seems to dissipate, but inside Haruki it still holds strong. As long as he is at home. There is no rest for him.
"What if... I..." Gennosuke feels pain is his chest and he stands up and walks away from the couch. He doesn't want to look Chojiro in the eyes. He doesn't even want to know the expression he will have if he says this. He leans against the fireplace mantle and stares into the fire. He feels like the log in the middle. Not yet burning but can still feel the heat surrounding him. "Are you blackmailing him?" "WHAT!?" Gennosuke turns to face Chojiro who's siting with his hands clasped and a serious expression. Though he's a bit surprised by Gennosuke's reaction he keeps talking. "If you are, that's really going to troublesome you know. The Uchida's are---" "No no no no no!" Gennsuke says waving his hand. As much as he is shocked by Chojiro's claim, he is very thankful that it was his first assumption. After all they are Yakuza. "Alright then, what is you connection with him. I want the truth. We both know I'll know if your lying." Gennosuke turns back around and the relief he felt moments ago goes up in flames. Tell him or don't tell him. Either way he's damned. "What if I..." No matter how much he tries he can't bring himself to say it. More than for himself, he can't for Haruki's sake. It'll be betraying the trust Haruki has for him. He knows if he doesn't come up with something, Chojiro will only sit there. It's always been his tact to use silence as an intimidation. If it was anyone else he knows he could talk his way out of it. Joke or something, but Chojiro won't buy any of that. "I want him." Though he says it under his breath he knows Chojiro can hear him. "I can't stop wanting him... Only him." The room stays silent and Gennosuke stares at the wall. He can feel Chojiro's eyes on him. There is no one he fears more than Chojiro. Even his own father can't stir this type of fear in him. The fire crackles and Gennosuke feels like he wants to drop to his knees. The silence is suffocating. The betrayal he feels his committed. There's a lump in his throat growing from it. He clenches his fists trying to control his very being from falling apart. Never in his life has felt this. His stomach starts to churn and his head throbs. "Say something..." Still no response. Has he made a dire mistake? Put Haruki's life at risk? He doesn't care what happens to him. But if Haruki were to be harmed in anyway, he.... "Did you act on this 'want' of yours?" "...Yes." "Did you... force him into it?" "No!" "I see..." Gennosuke hears Chojiro get up from his seat. He walks over to him putting his hand on his shoulder he turns Gennosuke to face him. Even when he does this he can't look Chojiro in the eyes. He looks down at the floor and the nausea gets worse. He can feel himself getting dizzy. "If it was just sex, couldn't you have chosen someone less... risky?" "IT'S NOT JUST SEX!" Gennosuke yells at Chojiro. The surprised look makes him turn away. His breathing becomes labored. Its like he can feel Haruki slipping through his fingers. The idea that he's losing him because of his jealousy is making his head spin with anger. If anything he promises himself he won't let anything happen to Haruki. No matter what he just won't. "I've never seen you like this Gennosuke. The usual you would never become so emotional over anything. Even that time someone broke in to this place you didn't get like this." That's right. When Gennosuke was little. A man demanding to see his father broke in and tried to take him hostage. He held a gun to Gennosuke's head and though he was scared he hardly showed it. Even scoffing at the man for trying something so stupid. Even when his father shot him and the blood sprayed on him he hardly flinched. Gennosuke simply took a bath threw out the clothes and went back to sleep. Everyone made a huge deal about it. Yet when you looked at Gennosuke you'd think they were overreacting. With his back turned to Chojiro, Gennosuke begins to speak. "I won't stop seeing him. If anything happens to him, I'll go after them no matter who they are. I will protect Haruki." Chojiro chuckles and pat Gennosuke on the back. Surprised, Gennosuke stands there wide eyed, though he still won't face Chojiro. "If this 'want' of yours is really more than just sex I have nothing to say. Since your willing to risk even bringing down your own family it must be. Just know if your risking everything only to get off, I will be VERY disappointed." "Ch-Ch-Chojiro?" "AH-AH! I'm not condoning anything. Think of it as a compromise." Gennosuke's eyes follow Chojiro as he walks back over to the couch. Sitting down he grins at Gennosuke. "I'd rather not live with the possibility you'd burn everything to the ground if I interfered."
It's Wednesday and Haruki hasn't gotten a good nights sleep in days. Working on the current case is tiring him out. More than that it's the fact he can't rest. Whether it be home or in the office he is bound and determined to not let anything slip. Especially at home. With what happened at the bar his brothers are watching him like a hawk. Though his parents don't seem to believe anything is wrong, Jun and Sei aren't convinced. Everyday he comes home they have to give him the once over. He can feel their eyes observing him. They even moved out of the dorms so all the peace and quiet at home is completely gone. He lays his head on the desk and closes his eyes. "...ru! ...Haru!" Haruki sits up to see Aoki staring back at him. When he looks at the clock he realizes he's been asleep for nearly and hour. "Hey, why don't you let me finish up here. Go home and get some rest. Tomorrow's a big day." "...Yeah." Haruki doesn't dispute Aoki's words. After catching up Aoki on what he was doing he heads for his car. When he gets there he stop before opening the door. He can't go home. If any of them find out, his brothers will be on him even harder. Then he won't get any sleep at all. Going to a hotel would also be troublesome. He takes the key out of the door. Leaving his car in the parking lot he heads for the only place he can think of.
"What time is the next meeting?" Gennosuke looks at Chojiro. Having just finished hearing the the reports from the local heads he feels like he dozing off. Everyone says the same thing. 'Nothing new is happening.' At least that's Gennosuke's summary of their hour long speech. "The next one isn't until this evening." Chojiro answers not looking up from his papers. Gennosuke gets up and puts on his coat. "I'm heading out then." Chojiro doesn't even ask as he has a pretty good idea of where he's going. They have not spoken of what happened since that evening. For the most part it's almost like it didn't happen in the first place. The only indicator is the silent understanding the two now have.
Opening the door to that small room above the bar Gennosuke spots movement under the covers. A pair of glasses sit on the nightstand and clothes are neatly folded and stacked on the couch. Gennosuke's heart beats faster and all the tiredness seeps away. Quietly he climbs on the bed pulling off his coat and undoing his tie. Haruki moans in his sleep and pulls the cover tighter around himself. 'So defenseless' Gennosuke thinks to himself. He brushes the hair from Haruki's face and gently kisses him on the cheek. He cautiously pushes Haruki on his back and pulls down the covers. Seeing that he's wearing only a robe, makes him lick his lips. Gennosuke slides the robe off Haruki's left shoulder. Brushing his lips against his exposed skin makes Haruki shudder. "Ge... Genno... suke." Hearing Haruki call his name makes him freeze. He eyes look up at Haruki's still sleeping face. To think Haruki's body has become so accustomed to his touch that he recognizes it in his sleep makes Gennosuke smile. He doesn't stop smiling as he continues to kiss Haruki's neck. His tongue slides up to his ear lobe. He lets his teeth scrape against the place right before his jaw. Gennosuke's body shudders again. Seeing he's still asleep Gennosuke focus his attention to the place his fingers are resting. Right on Haruki's left nipple. Grasping it between his thumb and pointer, he gently pulls on it. Haruki's eyes snap open. "Gennosuke!?" Haruki shouts looking at Gennosuke. A grins emerges across Gennosuke's lips. He leans over Haruki who completely flustered. "Calling you lovers name so sweetly in your sleep is a real turn on Haruki. We're you that anxious to see me?" There's a tinge of anger and embarrassment in Haruki's expression. While he was sleeping he thought he felt Gennosuke touching, but he couldn't tell if he was awake or asleep. The fact his body responds to Gennosuke's touch without a second thought makes him feel shy. "I came here to get some sleep. Ever since that night I haven't slept well. I was supposed to go home and rest today, but there's no way I can rest at home." Gennosuke sits up. It was his fault in the first place. Because of his actions they now have to be even more careful. Even if Chojiro does nothing, there are always others who will. They still have to tip toe around in the dark. "I was hoping if I made myself out to be the bad guy, you wouldn't get blamed for anything." "...Just tell me why you reacted that way." It's almost like Haruki knew Gennosuke was gearing up to say sorry. It's a word he knows Haruki doesn't like to hear, but he knows of no other way to express the feelings of guilt inside him. "...Jealousy." "Jealousy?" "Seeing you in another mans arms. I don't even like the idea that it could happen. I'm probably not the first guy attracted to someone as hot as you. You know?" Haruki's becomes even more flustered. And he sits up. Forgetting that his robe has been practically pulled off by Gennosuke it falls off his shoulders. "What the hell is that supposed to mean!? You think I just jump into some guy arms for the hell of it?" Gennosuke turns to look at Haruki. The sight of his robe half way off and exposed legs that hint at his nudity makes him turn towards the wall. There's no way he can speak to him rationally while he's dressed like that. It's amazing Haruki doesn't even realize just how attractive he is. Gathering himself he starts talking again. "...Chojiro... Chojiro knows." "WHAT!?" "Don't worry... He won't tell anyone. I can trust him on that. He just uh... He said if it was only about sex that I was taking this risk, he'd be disappointed in me." "Are you an idiot? If I was just here for an orgasm, you wouldn't be my first choice." Haruki gets out of bed and walks over to his clothes but is stopped before he reaches them. Gennosuke is holding him by the waist, hugging him tightly. "Though your words sound cold, they make me happy." Haruki doesn't respond. He knows that when you read between the lines of what he just said there is a deeper meaning. It seems Gennosuke knows it very well. He places his hands over Gennosuke's. Sitting in silence for awhile Haruki decides to change the subject. "I told you I was here for sleep. So why are you here?" "For sleep. But when I saw you the tiredness went away." "Then let's sleep." "Nope not sleepy. I want to do something else now." "What are you a child?" Haruki chuckles. Gennosuke stands while keeping his hands at Haruki's waist. Turning him around He slowly moves in for a kiss. 'Today I want to show him how much I treasure him. That I;m not here just for sex.' Gennosuke thinks to himself. He pulls the rest of Haruki's robe off and unbuckles his pants. Haruki watches Gennosuke takes off his pants and then his shirt. He opens his arms and Haruki shyly walks into them. The warm feel of their skin touching relaxes them both. The sink into each other and Haruki closes his eyes. "Are we gonna sleep naked or something? 'Cuz I'm really not---" "Nope. Now don't speak anymore. Let me do this." Gennosuke leads Haruki towards the bathroom. Turn on the shower he waits from the water to heat up. The room begins to fill with steam. Gennosuke backs up against the wall pulling Haruki with him. Wrapping his arms around him the hot water hits Haruki's back. Both of their eyes are closed as the water flows over them. Gennosuke tilts Haruki's head slightly and kisses him gently. He feels Haruki relax into his arms with no resistance. There isn;t even a hint of him keeping his guard up. Three words swell at the base of his tongue, but he's too afraid to say them. Instead he pushes it into Haruki's mouth. Their tongues massage against each other and Haruki leans forward to deepen the kiss. The steam in room and the heat of the kiss are making Haruki lightheaded. He pulls back from the kiss and open his eyes slightly. They meet Gennosuke's. More than lust or arousal, tranquility fills the air. At this moment it's not just their bodies that are bonding, but their hearts as well. Gennosuke moves his hands from Haruki's waist to his back. Pressing his fingers into Haruki's skin he makes small circular motions. Haruki lets out a moan at he feel of his fingers. "Feels good?" Gennosuke whispers into Haruki's ear. His breathing has slowed and become harsher with the movement of Gennosuke's fingers. They're now near his shoulder blades. This place holds the most tension and Gennosuke feels it. He massages Haruki's back deeper. Haruki rests his arms around Gennosuke's neck. He closes his eyes again, letting himself drown in this moment. There is a part of Gennosuke that is surprised by his own actions. Wanting to treasure and take care of someone like this is new to him. No other relationship has made him want to do so to such an extent. Expressing his feelings in more ways then those three words is an emotion he's never felt before. Yet, when he's with Haruki it all comes naturally. Haruki presses his lips against Gennosuke's shoulder. Opening his mouth just a bit, He sucks lightly at Gennosuke's collarbone. He plants small kisses on Gennosuke's neck moving upwards until he reaches his lips. He licks Gennosuke's bottom lip and starts to suck on it. Gennosuke lets out a soft moan and a hardness begins to grow between his legs. He pushes Haruki away from him. "Wait... I didn't want to do this. I wanted to do what you wanted today." Haruki looks at Gennosuke puzzled. His eyes look down towards the floor. When they spot Gennosuke's hard on he looks away blushing. He turns around and walks towards the towel rack. He starts to wrap it around his waist. Two hands stop him from doing so. Gennosuke takes the towel from him and drops it on the floor. He nips at the nape of Haruki's neck. His hands travel to the place he was trying to cover up with the towel. The sensation of Gennosuke's hands sends tingles up his spine. Haruki slightly turns his head to the side, He can only keep his composure if he doesn't look him in the eye. "I thought you said you didn't want to do this, but clearly something is poking me." "It's because your lips touched me. No... it's because you're around me. I want to connect with you. I can't help it." "...If you let me sleep in peace today, I'll let you do what you want on Friday." "REALLY?" Gennosuke turns Haruki around to face him. Haruki doesn't look him in the eyes as he's too embarrassed by his own words. He knows what type of grave he's dug for himself, but without actually saying it. This is the only way he knows how to express his feelings. Gennosuke picks up the robe and wraps it around Haruki's shoulders. He ties the belt and smiles sweetly at Haruki who blushes again. Haruki turns to get back under the covers. "Don't act so damned happy." Gennosuke climbs under the cover with him and they fall asleep.
