Steve | Jean
Much as I hate to say, I think Normal went out the window a long time ago. Our normal now is we adapt to what's in front, what we're facing. Admittedly the Avengers haven't seen the same kind of stability that can be expected from the JeanXavier School, but I'm glad for that. It's, as you said, you made a new normal. I just wish we did what we should have done, a long time ago, and stepped up to help shore it for all of you. It's something you can count on, should we ever get out of here.
It was their idea actually, or, well, one we all agreed to. You and Mantis were the primary candidates and I personally would rather this situation get handled rather than manipulated, even if the end result is the same. I'm hoping that helping them learn to talk, maybe to someone who they don't see as a replacement for parents they never had, will be easier.
Nathan and Rachel areYou've done well by your Children Jean, no one could say that you haven't.
And I believe you Jean, if I didn't I wouldn't have come to you. Trust me when I say, it wasn't the easiest thing I've done. I know timelines are a little off here but...we're not on the best of terms, myself and the X-Men, where I'm from. I won't say it's without good reason either, but it's something we've been slowly working to repair. That said, if there's anyone I trust who will put all that aside and give their heart over to the well being of a child, you're top of the list.
