"Very well then." The response was simple, easy. Nebula using words like 'appreciate' the fact that this was the new element to their relationship? Gamora wasn't about to neglect that. Certainly that had both endured too much and, from the look of it, were both trying very hard to put some distance between where they were and their problematic past. It...it felt like hope, something she hadn't fully understood until traveling with the Guardians. At best, her original plan had been to get out from under Thanos, to spend the rest of her life running if that's what it took, She'd never even considered what that might have meant for Nebula and...now? If there was ever something she was truly thankful for, it was that things had gone differently.
That they had this chance at all.
Indeed, that very thought that would cause a short silence, which they both struggled to fill would, fall. Nebula's words were a thought she often echoed. Working with the Guardians, some days, it felt like distraction. She knew Thanos was out there still, that he, no doubt, had plans for the two sisters who had decided not to be a part of his plans. Gamora thought, on more than one occasion, it was perhaps that which made the silences so uncomfortable. It let her sit on that thought, made her wonder what would come next, never quite stepping past the threshold of apprehension that their calm might be shattered by an immediate need to run because they just weren't ready. It, in no small part, was why she didn't like to, didn't want to leave Nebula alone on these outings -- even if articulating that was all but impossible.
"Until we can discover the root of how they arrive." And there was an easy to read resignation in her voice, something that spoke of how that unsettled her. "We cannot simply leave them unaided, much as I agree that they are a hazard." She liked the humans and others that had been arriving well enough, even if being around them was complicated, but that didn't change the fact they could easily turn into collateral damage if Thanos came for them. No doubt they would fight and...
Pushing up from her seat, mostly to shunt the tightening she felt in her muscles, she slid past where Nebula sat, letting a single hand fall, just for a second, over the shoulder. "We will worry about that when we are ready." Because that was the best answer to give. As it was, they weren't, and they both had to know that. "Until then, we will continue to prepare." She paused, taking a small lap around the cabin space before returning to her seat.
