Rose sighed noisily. "A mystery. Exactly what I always want first thing in the morning." She tilted her head, thinking over possible explanations. Most transmat beams weren't strong enough to penetrate the TARDIS's shields, so it was either something very powerful or the timeship was playing around. "Hopefully the TARDIS hasn't taken up the habit of abductin' people like a bad sci-fi movie, but you never know. People can get weird in their old age." Oh, she would end up paying for that comment in the near future, but she was groggy and surprised and her neck was being a real bother.
Her gaze dropped to the weapon that the woman was holding, then raised to meet Nebula's glare with an arched eyebrow. Rose had stopped carrying her own weapons beyond the console room when the youngest Doctor left, so she was unarmed but she wasn't worried; this was hardly the most dangerous situation she'd ever found herself in. Still, she was seriously considering going back to carrying a gun or somesuch everywhere; it wouldn't do to be caught unaware again. She held up her hands to show that they were both empty. "Hey, no one's gonna hurt you while you're here, but whatever makes you happy. Just don't shoot the books." She rolled her eyes. "Some of them are irreplaceable, and I could do without the Doctor whinging that I damaged something a thousand years before he got his turn."
She slowly stood from the table, careful to move smoothly and to keep her hands in view. No need to startle the armed stranger. She took a moment to stretch and to straighten her sleep-rumpled clothes. "Right, introductions. I'm Rose Tyler and I for one have not had enough coffee to deal with whatever new weirdness has fallen into our laps." She hitched her thumb at the door to the hallway. "You up for some breakfast?"
