It'd taken a few days, but as a pirate seeking buried treasure, Killian Jones always found his mark.
Learning to navigate the swarthy, dark turns and alleys of Knowhere had proven more troublesome than the Captain would ever admit. The stars were all wrong in space. A permanent darkness lacking indication of day or night akin to reading a map without a lantern, and with no Polaris to indicate true north, Killian had been forced to turn to other points of reference.
He'd found them, of course. In the listing buildings and fissures in the pavement guiding him left and right, then left again. Like stars, stones rarely changed their stripes, their imperfections breadcrumbs to his wanderings until Killian knew all of Knowhere like the curve of his hook. He'd left no building unexplored, no marketplace safe from his light-fingeredness; every last bottle of rum to cross his path emptied without a drop wasted.
Which was how he knew exactly where and when to intercept Li-Ming on her way home to the barracks.
"Good to see you faring well after your ventures," he spoke abruptly, stepping into her path a few blocks from her intended destination. "Get it? Sea-faring? Perhaps no. Not everyone has my rapier whit."
Not that Killian's sword was a rapier, but he enjoyed the pun nonetheless.
