Characters: Li-Ming and Open When/Where: Some time after her arrival/Out and about Rating/Warnings: Pg-13 (violence, threats, language)
This place, in Li-Ming's opinion, was just plain terrible. And she'd been in sewers, and they held more appeal then this place did. She sniffed delicately, regretted it, and continued walking. So far, the only up was Leah's presence. Even better, Leah seemed to be doing well, and making steps to become a true Horadrim. Well, once Leah saw the inherent power as more then a burden anyway. Not that Li-Ming couldn't understand. Leah had been betrayed on a level that was a little incomprehensible. That conversation had led into Leah suggesting Li-Ming take a look around the new environment, to get a feel for it.
Credit where it was due, Leah had the most polite way of saying 'stop, go do something else besides push me'.
So far, she didn't see what was so great about the place. Except, of course, the why and what. Already she'd been made aware of several road blocks. Places where she couldn't go. And 'no' was the most powerful way to get her to do anything. She wanted to find a way into these so called forbidden places. See how it worked. Take it apart maybe, and put it back together. The concept of new knowledge was tantalizing. That it was beyond doors that were locked was making it even better.
But going in with her full power was perhaps not the wisest course of action, which proved she'd learned something at least. She could of course, but from Leah's books she'd learned there were more things here then simple Angels or Demons. Which meant wait first, act later. Don't step on too many toes.
Isandra would be proud of her.
This train of thought had her sigh, and only reactions learned from the Burning Hells had her avoid the large creature that she'd all but collided with. She'd been to caught up to consider her path. She huffed and made to pass but it blocked her. It sneered at her and she looked back, unimpressed. She'd stared into Fear's eyes, this creature was very little compared to that. "You're in my way," she gave and the creature growled and looked down at her "Watch where you're going, pretty thing. Could get yourself hurt like that." She rolled her eyes, "You're still in my way."
And then it grabbed her arm. She raised an eyebrow as it said; "pretty thing like you should have some manners. Maybe you should be taught." She raised her eyes to it, then said very calmly "let me go." It grinned and said 'or?' and barley finished the word before electricity laced with flames shot up his arm and through his form. It screeched, collapsed and only then released her.
"Or that," she gave and looked up. It had friends who stood around, looking from her to the twitching creature. She gave a sigh and with a flick of her wrist a large Hydra made of flame stood beside her. It's flame's crackled and hissed and she held up one hand, the electricity coursing over her gauntlets. "Shall we play?" When they scuttled off she smiled and with another movement of her hand both electricity and Hydra disappeared. She glanced to the one who'd grabbed her and used a boot to roll him over. "Oh. You live. Pity that. Here's advice, do not grab anyone without their permission."
Then she turned and continued her walk. Conficence laced her steps and she brought out the odd device she'd been given. She'd gotten the basics out of the speaking animal (which she was curious about how that worked), and Leah had filled her in on the rest. 'Like a journal' she'd said 'only other people can read it'. It was an odd sort of magic she itched to take apart. She tapped on it, finding what she'd been told and made a thoughtful sound.
You'd think nearly colliding once would have taught her anything, but instead it just taught her how to stop even quicker. The next thing was a spell to warn her of these things, considering no one else seemed to get the 'move' part either. She looked up and sighed. "Why is everyone always in my way?"
