Bill really did need a distraction and she was getting them in abundance. In the time she'd been speaking to Charlie, she'd made a bread sampler plate for Nebula. Then she'd set aside a loaf of banana bread for Ten and apple cinnamon for the Master who she was going to bloody well have tea with - how insane was she? Having tea with the Master! But he was just as hurt and lonely as she was even if he didn't want to show it, to let people know he had a weakness... So Bill would just take care of him.
Then others were coming by to collect loaves but she'd set a couple aside for her and Charlie. She'd already started mixing up the vanilla bean bread mix for Kara. But even before that, she'd found a bottle of red wine, not really sure what one might pair with, you know, bread. It wasn't a meal so she figured whatever they wanted was fine. She had a pair of stools at a counter where she'd been mixing bread dough all day and that was where she was, mixing away, wine poured and waiting.
She looked... miserable. Honestly and truly miserable. When the Doctor had left, she had spent the whole evening crying into her pillow and feeling like her heart had gotten ripped out, like she'd done something wrong. Then, she had slept. Now it was a matter of being productive and pretending she was going to be alright. Hopefully, Charlie could help with that on some level. So when the redhead came into the kitchen, Bill looked up and smiled her best, "So I hear you were a doll. Climbing stairs must have been Hell."
