Rose's day did not start off well. The first thing she saw upon waking was a Raxicoricofallapatorian coming at her, claws raised. She grabbed her gun, tracking the alien as it disappeared through the wall. She warily stared at the spot, waiting for it to return and wondering what the hell had just happened. The TARDIS wouldn't have allowed something hostile into her room, and solid matter couldn't pass through walls. The situation didn't add up and, as her adrenaline ebbed, she dismissed it as some sort of odd half-dreamt illusion.
She got through most of her morning routine without incident until a glimpse of a Dalek in the mirror sent her scrambling out of her en-suite. When no genocidal pepperpot rolled out after her, she risked a peek and found her loo perfectly empty. It didn't make sense that an actual Dalek would take up residence in her shower, so it almost certainly wasn't real. So what was it? Hallucination? Hologram?
Wait, had she done something to really piss off the TARDIS? A cross sentient telepathic timeship with holographic projectors seemed like the most reasonable explanation for whatever was happening. "Did I do something wrong?"
The TARDIS buzzed and sent her a mental nudge towards the nightstand.
Rose opened the drawer, finding a bar of her favourite chocolate that had not been there last night. It seemed that she was still in the ship's good graces. "Oh, well, that's good. And thank you." She patted the nearest wall and tucked away the chocolate for later. "Guess the problem is with me, then." Maybe she had finally gone mad. That was a bit worrying.
She grabbed her tablet to send off a quick question to the medical staff and found a deluge of new posts from the day. Scrolling through, she learned the extent of the madness that had fallen upon the station: a sudden influx of children, transformations into dolls, and explosions. In her particular circle, River had apparently reverted to a previous regeneration that was bent on killing the Doctor. There was a hell of a story there, one that she would be drawing the basics of out of the Doctor or River if everyone made it through. Leave it to him, knowing that multiple regenerations could show up here, to hoard his secrets and let something like this blindside them. That one really deserved a smack upside the head.
Well, at least the younger Doctors were happy with the cards they were dealt. That was a little good news.
Rose dashed off a post of her own and left her room to meet Martha, studiously ignoring the image of herself walking alongside her in the corridor. If this whole thing weren't already a sign that she had gone bonkers, it would probably drive her mad.
She waited by the console, anxiously watching live video feed of the exterior on the monitor. She hoped Martha arrived before the Doctor got bored and decided to snoop on "girl time". At last check, he'd been running the stairs in the TARDIS, making the most of his newly Time Lord body, but he'd always had the most atrocious timing. She didn't want him popping in and worrying about her, not when he was just starting to cheer up.
