"Nebula." A little sterner this time, on instinct more than anything else. She'd never really been in a position to handle children before, never mind one that was Nebula. "That's unnecessary." She repeated the words, now watching the way hands shook. She'd almost never seen Nebula's hands shake before, at least not that she could remember, and never like they were now. "No one is going to hurt you. I would not let them." She repeated herself verbatim, hoping perhaps consistency would drive the point home.
"Relax your grip on the weapon." She tried a new approach. "If you hold it so tightly, when you swing or try to stab with it, the shaking of your hands will obstruct your aim." She lowered herself the rest of the way, folding her legs up under her as she sat on the floor of the ship. "I know you must be confused, I know I am." She continued, again trying a new approach to see what stuck. "I don't know how this has happened to you." She paused, just slightly. "But I do know that you are my sister and I am going to look after you the same as I would if you were as old as you were before." She reached out to try and push the bag a little closer to Nebula.
"And I am certain you must have questions." Another pause. "I will tell you now that we cannot go home. There is no home to get back to. I know this is...difficult, but I am not going to be dishonest with you or give you false hope." It was, undoubtedly, colder than she meant to be, but this was how Gamora was with people. She was honest, she was straightforward. Being anything else just made no sense. "But you are not without family here." She added again, trying to further cement the notion by saying it a third time. "You have friends here, family, and people who will watch out you and...and who care about you a great deal. I am sure it's not the greatest comfort there is..." She lifted her eyes, making sure to look Nebula straight in the face, ignoring every instinct that told her to be on guard. "But I am glad you are still here and that I have the chance to get to know you like this."
