Ed didn't really have the mental capacity to be as alert as Roy was just then, in fact he barely saw Martha show up. The only reason he was still awake now was because people kept talking to him-which he was finding increasingly annoying by the way. All he really wanted to do was sleep given the chance. His brain kept threatening to short out on him while they spoke, but he wasn't defensive about Roy's presence, or the doctor herself it seemed. The pain made him want to cooperate just a little so it would pass, but even it wasn't the worst kind of pain he'd suffered.
When she removed that coat she'd reveal the black top he wore that hid, albeit not very well-a mechanical arm that didn't exactly look clean. It'd been pretty intricately attached to his nervous system on the opposite side of his body. It was heavy, but it was a weight his body was used to carrying and wasn't the source of any problem, but there were dark scars from when the surgery had happened around the attachment point years ago now. He was no stranger to pain. That side of his arm had no flesh at all and almost looked robotic.
"Debrief me from what, we're in space it's pretty brief." He snickered, not really sure what he was saying until his attention was actually directed somewhere. "Edward Elric. Colonel bastard calls me Fullmetal." He wasn't even sure what he was saying anymore, beads of sweat touched his forehead while she started. The injury had been made from some kind of scythe or jagged bladed object, and his chest was bruised up but other then that it hadn't been terribly life threatening until they left him to bleed to death in the 5th Lab.
His eyes flickered toward Roy again. "Nina's alive, Tucker too."
