Well, she wasn't going to be breeding anytime soon. Bill simply put her book back on the shelf, glad that she knew all of that now. It was believable enough that she wasn't going to second-guess him. But that meant she needed to die. So why was he telling her? Just to see her reaction? Beyond the sadness that settled on her like a well-worn coat, she was trying very hard not to give him much of one.
But as he went on, she became more and more suspicious. Her eyebrows furrowed together and she turned to look the Master up and down. "That doesn't make sense... I would think you would leap at the chance to tell him just how badly one of his pets has screwed up and that they have to die to fix it," she paused for a moment before each word came carefully measured, "So why aren't you leaping?"
