When Castiel paused a brief flicker of worry crossed the elder Winchester's features, afraid the angel would decide to leave. Not that Dean believed he could stop Cas from leaving. He couldn't when Cas took off after Lucifer. He couldn't when Cas took off with Kelly. He just couldn't. Cas had become his own person - sort of - and Dean was okay with that. Cas deserved to come and go as he pleased - Dean didn't own him.
But then Cas moved around the bed and took up the seat on Sam's other side and Dean relaxed, tension in his shoulder loosening somewhat. Of course he wouldn't completely relax until Sammy was on his feet again but two of the most important people in Dean's life were present and that made the world of difference.
If Cas wanted silence, Dean wasn't going to give it to him. He'd had enough of the silence for now. "So where'd you get the flowers from, anyway?" He looked down at the single white daisy still in his hand. "Didn't think anything would grow here considering there's no sun."
