FRIDAY EVENING
BASIL & (OPEN)
WHERE: BASIL'S APOTHECARY SHOP WHAT: TBD RATING: TBD STATUS: OPEN/ON-GOING |
Basil was working on his inventory that evening, which included ensuring his stock had correct tallies and that he had plans to acquire items he was running low on. He sold all sorts of things, of course, which stemmed from a desire to anticipate the communities needs, which wasn't simply items for your typical spells. No, the community he served was far more than witches, which is why he also provided his services as a healer, for if it was part of his magical repertoire, so why not give back that way as well? It certainly made for an honest and humble life, which Basil enjoyed. Which was also why he was spending his Friday night on such a venture. Normally he would delegate the task to his assistant, but even they deserved an evening off now and then. Half of their potential clientele were night dwellers after all, and if sleep was to be had, then Basil's commute was arguably easier as well, for all he needed to do was pop upstairs to his flat. Thus he had his assortment of reasons for being there and moved away from his mountainous display of dried flora and fungi in glass bottles to scrawl out a list of needed items on a piece of parchment. Basil then rolled it and whistled for one of his feathered messengers-- a slender barn owl in this instance-- over so that he could tie the thing to its leg and send the bird off to one of his devoted suppliers. A red squirrel peered at the exchange curiously from its alcove on a bookshelf, then dozed off again. Brushing his hands together, Basil sighed before going back to it, but he quickly doubled back at the sound of the bell ringing from where it was affixed to the door, announcing a new customer. And who would Basil be if he didn't great everyone? "Good evening! Are you looking for something in particular or just browsing?" |
