I know you're aware of your issues about it, so I'll try not to write too much out about your activity. There are just a few things I’ve noticed that I think are worth pointing out.
Despite that, I hope that your new system helps you and ends up working for you!
I have noticed, though, that lately you've been slipping into the habit of posting with your characters (usually more around the end of the two-month activity period), tagging that post a little but then mostly letting it peter out without it going anywhere. I think that, in addition to your new system, tagging around rather than focusing on posting on your own will really help your activity.
I can't remember which crit meme it was you posted to last, but I know that back then you were given crit about cr-building and you replied that it was a two-way street. I agree that it is a two-way street, but I would also say that when it comes to cr-building with you, it seems very heavily one-sided on every one else's part. I’m not saying you should take all the responsibility onto yourself, but as it stands, characters tag your entries but your characters rarely tag their entries. That leaves the cr-building reliant upon that one person rather than both of you.
I’m not saying this is always the case, though! Once you do get underway with threads, you really can get going and it's great! It just seems more often than it doesn’t. At the same time, you do tend to favor certain threads above others (which is natural for any rper to sometimes focus on one or two threads rather than 10+), but those who already have established cr with you are more likely to get those longer threads. So it makes it harder to build cr with you. I think this extends beyond your activity issues and the hiatuses you’ve taken. It comes down to the fact that you can, say, thread for ages and ages with Rikuou and Kaza (as what happened in Koryuu’s prank log) but then, at the same time, there aren’t any tags anywhere else. Eventually, momentum is lost if it takes a week or more to get one tag back for a thread that’s only just beginning.
As for characters, I have no crit for Gigei. I think she’s fun and lovely. I’d like to maybe see more of her teasing side, perhaps. But overall, I think you handle her teasing and silly side well with her more serious, motherly side. Her threads with Ashura in particular are always wonderful. Her threads are always lots of fun on one hand, but then can be so tragic and heart-breaking. You do a fantastic job balancing those two, and she never comes across as flat or over-the-top. Her interactions are some of my favorite from you.
Kamui seems a little off to me, though. I think you make him a little too passive and quiet sometimes. I think you handle his angst very well, usually, but sometimes it just seems a bit strange. He seems too passive. Kamui does get angry, or annoyed, or grumpy. But I don’t see these things with him. He can speak up for himself, and for others as well. He isn’t a doormat.
Kamui’s speech pattern, additionally, is so awkward. I understand that he’s a quiet guy, but I don’t understand why that translates to him only talking in one or two words forever. Kamui’s more talkative than that, I think. It’s incredibly hard, and sometimes frustrating, to thread with him because every other tag seems to be “… mm…” or “… yeah.” I think I can see this at the beginning, after his choice, but given his canon-point and also the time he’s been in MC, I feel he should be a little more open (for lack of a better word) when it comes to talking.
