And ffff, yeah... I've noticed it, too. I've been called out on it before (at some point last year, I believe), and I definitely focused on not doing it, but lately it's been sneaking back into my tags.
I definitely make it a conscious thing with Mermaid, because she's quiet in general and if I want her to tag someone but honestly can't think of something? I'll go ahead and do the generic, one-word tags and build off it once the character actually responds. I also tend to use them if I can tell the mun I'm threading with is going to have their character say more, or elaborate on a tag (after playing with some of these lazy bums for three years, I can kind of tell when their character has more to say, if that makes sense?).
I haven't noticed it so much with Hokuto, but I guess if it's something you've noticed recently, it's probably because I'm feeling a little burnt-out with her? I like to tag things all at once, with all my characters, instead of focusing on one or the other. I don't want to derail a thread by waiting for inspiration to come, so even if I'm feeling a little uninspired, I'll tag it: even if that tag ends up being kinda crappy in the end.
I'm so sorry if this has, as a result, caused you to struggle to tag me.
I know it's a problem with Sakura, too. She's also quiet, but I do rely on it a bit too heavily with her, and when I'm feeling unsure about her, I'll kind of fall back on the one-worded responses as a crutch.
Also, admittedly, I overuse them when I'm a little unsure how to respond to a tag? Like, if I don't understand where a character is going or if I just. Don't understand the tag... I'll pull that out just in the hopes the character will elaborate.
FFF I don't mean to be offering excuses. I hope that doesn't seem like I am, I just want to explain some of my reasoning. Hopefully they make sense. =3=b
But thank you for bringing it to my attention! I'd noticed it with some of my quieter characters, but I'm a little disappointed in myself for letting it happen with Hokuto. I'll certainly make a bigger effort from now on not to not rely so heavily on them and actually give tags of substance. :|b
