GUYS. Just a quick question. Should IPs be logged in the main comms, or not? It'd mostly just affect our memes.

Since it's kinda important, please comment even if it's to say "I don't care either way" o/ I'll leave this up for a while and poke those currently away when they return.

	Since we're pretty small and don't really have to worry about spam or trolls or anything, might be a good idea? I'm thinking mainly of crit memes, it might be good to make it officially anonymous. (Reply to this)

Personally, I'd want things to stay as they are; I'm not sure how much people actually even pay attention to it, and I've never felt like the logging ever got in the way of people giving constructive criticism. And at the end of the day, I'm not worried about it unless it actually becomes a concern of the players.

But... on the other hand, I've been trying to think of alternatives. Maybe have it so people can link to IP off/anon enabled posts in their own journals/elsewhere when they comment to the meme? Or try one round of IP off, see how it works, and then we can decide if it works all right/doesn't make a difference/doesn't turn into a wankstorm?

I personally don't care either way? The IP logging has never bothered me before -- if someone wants to say something and they don't want their IP traced, they can use a proxy server. Either way, I think it helps cut down on any potential wank/flaming we could be getting from people who aren't even in the game. I guess overall, I'm for keeping it. I don't feel threatened that if I say something anonymously, it'll be traced back to me and cause problems. Then again, I don't say anything anon that I wouldn't say logged in. OwO

I can't say it makes a huge difference for me - the IP logging has never bothered me, and as Aly said, it's possible it helps cutting down potential wank. Then again, Kiseki is small and obscure enough that I don't think total anonymity would result in any kind of wankfest. I'd say it can't hurt to try it out for a meme or two and see how it works? It's hardly like the logging can't be turned on again if it turns out anons can't handle the freedom.
