He is SUCH a shit. I love that you're not afraid to acknowledge all of his faults and fuck-ups and just present him as the truly terrible person that he is, and yet also approach his attempts at doing right by his son in a realistic and heartfelt way. It's never a doubt that he loves Neal, as well as it's never a doubt that he's a colossal fuck up. I think you do such a great job of capturing his character and, at the same time, never being afraid to laugh outright at your character.
It's GREAT that you can acknowledge all of your character's shortcomings and failings, and at the same time also not be afraid to laugh at your character. You never take Rumpel too seriously, which I think is an important thing, especially for a character like Rumpel. You have fun with it, and it's always clear to see that.
