[Really, Souji's far too distracted at the moment to think about what their position looks like, but he certainly acknowledges how nice (and comforting) it is to have Ian holding him like this, especially when he's not being entirely vocal about how upset he is. Something is missing, something potentially important, and he doesn't know what it is. He can't feel it.
When Ian moves away enough to take his helmet off, Souji takes in a quick breath, and definitely doesn't stare (okay he's staring a lot), and--]
... wow.
[It's always been difficult to remember that Ian is the one under that outfit and Souji can't bring himself to complain at all with the way he looks right now. Unfortunately, that disconnect means vocalizing his interest.
Ian's appearance and Souji's openness is certainly enough to catch him off-guard before he fumbles back to the current topic. He steps back and straightens himself, making the space between them fairly obvious, because while he's missing the filter and doesn't react as strongly when speaking his mind, he's still embarrassed.]
I know. ... I just don't like not being able to help. It makes me feel useless.
